New and Improved POST YOUR PET PICTURES Thread

Max glares at us from his bed weekday mornings. he doesn't act up but he knows we're leaving. on weekends he bounces around like a puppy. when our oldest son comes home between college breaks he's delirious the entire time and when son leaves he's inconsolable for a week. we got him kitties to play with but they just don't seem to fit the bill. (but they've been great for the mice thing - Max would just watch them scoot across the floor - he's an old guy.)

^ What a great dog.

Everyone's complaining about the weather. Hermes isn't.

A picture of one of my Labbies in the nor'easter that kept us home from work today.

I love every animal I've seen in this thread, and they're all sweet and adorable, but this right here is a beautiful dog. I'm a sucker for labs.

Thank you - he's a keeper - but he's not into snow any more now he's older. Is Hermes a Swissie/Bernese? I'd guess Swissies and snow are a mutual love thing! (I think Swiss Mountain Dogs and Bernese Mountain dogs are related but I sure could be wrong!)

Yup, he's a Bernese mountain dog, so yeah, it must be in his genes :D

Edit: Yep, I'm pretty sure they're related as well.

I've seen the puppies on Animal Planet and they are soooo cute! (okay - who ever actually has ever seen an ugly puppy?)

when max was young he loved snow - he'd pounce about in it like a really really big bunny rabbit. now he won't have anything to do with it. he'll bark at us/supervise from the window (inside) when we are out shoveling but that's about it these days.

Bailey.jpg

This was one of the most wonderful dogs who ever lived, Bailey. Even years after she passed, I still miss her.

My kittens, Jadzia (tortie) and Tuvok (black) at about 10 weeks old. They always used to be together like that when they were little.

Here's my first dog, Skippy.

Here I am giving him a treat.

Here he is with our cat Whiskers.

It's kind of funny because Whiskers looks a lot like my current cat Chance and they are not only separated by decades but by continents as well!

My in-laws homemade Xmas card was their German shorthair with a doggy santa hat on. She didn't look amused.

That picture I took of Rupert above will be my January in the extended family dog calendar. My dad put together an amazing one for 2010, planned to for 2011 but was too sick to do so, then went real downhill and passed in December when we would have needed to make it, but I'm taking over the reigns for 2012 since we loved the one from last year so much. It had my 2 beasts, my parents' Golden, and my in-laws dog.

I expect to be able to posts dogs in party hats tomorrow!

Molly. A beautiful, gentle soul. She passed in August. Like her older sister, Bailey, she was 70 pounds of pure love.

Just as an added thought: People who don't like animals just don't know how to love.

My best friend, Jake.

At 5 am yesterday morning i woke up to the sounds of Dora puking on Zoe. So they had to be bathed yesterday. What is it with dogs and running around the house on their noses when they're wet?

SO hilarious! There must never be a dull moment in your house! When Max gets a bath he scoots along the walls like that and rolls around and tries to fit himself under the couch - it's like they're trying to spread their misery around or shed it like itchy hairs!

^ HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're right! They really are a bit hyper, aren't they?

ORSE, you're right about that. There is NEVER a dull moment with these two here.

I never quite awoke to the sound of one dog puking on the other. But I did wake up a while back to an odd smell during the night. I turned the light on and saw this thick, grayish puddle on the carpet. One dog ate the other one's crap from the yard and the horked it back up on the carpet. Nothing like scrubbing the carpet at 3 AM.

what is it with dogs eating poop? I've have to rescue used diapers from our dogs. yeeeech!
