<3 Ricky Gervais

Gervais did exactly what he was hired to do, and I thought it was hilarious. The Hollywood types have huge sticks up their butts and it's high time someone stopped kowtowing to them.

And WTF with questioning what he said about Robert Downey Jr.? It was nothing compared to what RDJ said about himself, for crying out loud. And all of it funny as hell.

So far, as far as I can tell, the only people who really have a problem with it are people who make money off the "controversy" of having a problem with it.

Well this has convinced me of one thing... I ordered the boxset of Ricky's Stand up dvds today.
Is it the one with all four? As when his recent fourth one came out, there were two different boxsets available. The proper one with 1-4 on it, and one weirdly with 1, 3 and 4, 2 being missed out for some reason.

FYI-
1- Animals
2- Politics
3- Fame
4- Science

Odd, as I think the Politics one is the best, if only for the intro
"Not gay!"

The one with all 4 from Amazon. I think I've seen Animals all the way through, and the TV edit of Politics but not the other 2.

I've seen all four of them, and they're all hilarious. I love Ricky Gervais. :D

Have you never heard Garofalo? She spews more hate than any half a dozen other people on either side of the aisle.

Obviously you don't watch Faux News on any given night.

You realize that calling it "Faux News" alone is enough to disqualify you as a rational discussant. Name-calling? REALLY?

Not necessarily. Studies have shown for years that Fox News viewers are the least informed on the news, a recent study has shown that the more one watches the network (regardless of partisan identification of the viewer) the more likely it is that the viewer will believe a specific set of falsehoods to be true.

So, not only do they do the poorest job of presenting the facts, but they actually promote fake news. Saying 'Faux News' is just an easier way to express this post with out going through the trouble of typing it all.

But no one can argue that they have the most viewers.

Yeah, bogus survey relying on "the right OPINION" rather than a right factual answer. I read all about that, and have taken enough statistics courses (and still wake up screaming about some of them... >shudder<) to know that you can get any response set you want by wording the questions however you need. This is a quick response: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8KHOgyYyHQ&feature=sub

(For example, we're always hit with the "no WMD in Iraq" thing, but that's not the case, and it never has been.)

And do you seriously think a Soros-funded survey would come out with "Fox is great"?

BTW, I saw a news report stating many conservatives *are* enjoying the Gervais situation -- so I stand corrected on that. Apparently, I know more stuffy people than they do. ;)

Yeah, bogus survey relying on "the right OPINION" rather than a right factual answer.

So why is it that so many studies over the better part of a decade continue to show the same thing? And looking at the list of falsehoods in that study, do you deny that they weren't promoted by people on Fox News?

(For example, we're always hit with the "no WMD in Iraq" thing, but that's not the case, and it never has been.)

Finding weapons left over from when we knew they had a program in place and newer weapons that could have been brought in by foreign insurgents is hardly proof that there was an active program that was a threat to the US in 2003. And it's laughable to claim otherwise, because if you do, I'd have to ask what motivation George W Bush would have for lying about their being no weapons in his book?

"George W. Bush recounted the mistakes of his presidency on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show as he launched a book tour to promote his just-released memoir, 'Decision Points,'" AP writes. "The former president said he still feels 'sick about' the fact that no weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. His response to Hurricane Katrina could have been quicker, he said, and he should have landed Air Force One two days after the storm instead of viewing the destruction through the plane’s window. And he said he did not see the financial meltdown coming."

I'm laughing but i cant really imagine the damage Boyle could do, its to frightening to comprehend.:lol:

And the headlines.....The comedian Frankie Boyle was executed today for jokes he made at a exclusive televised awards ceremony.....eyewitness said Boyle was shocking right till the end...his remains will be buried in a unmarked grave inside a lead coffin that will be encased in 12 feet of concrete to prevent any offensive material from leaking out in the future.
