I figured Bane was a contender for the next movie, perhaps as a Mercenary hired by Gotham to hunt down the "Murderer" Batman since they already had the mob bring in a "specialist" in TDK in the form of the Joker.

I also turned out to be right about casting January Jones as Emma Frost for X-Men...

I guess this means they just MIGHT cast Yvonne Strahovski as Mockingbird...

It's sales numbers are likely to be inflated because the 'Knight Saga' took part in the high print run 90's. However, that caveat said I rarely run into too many people who don't consider it one of the best string of stories to come out of the 90's Batman run.

Knightfall, KnightQuest, KnightsEnd and Prodigal are the 4 parts that make up the story. Prodigal is the first time Dick becomes Batman, a role he now has full time for awhile as part of the new storyline Batman Inc., but I digress.

Yeah, I have no problem with Anne Hathaway in general. I just don't see her in the Catwoman role. Then again, I certainly didn't see Heath Ledger as Joker either, and that turned out great.

Have you seen her in Get Smart? There was one fight scene where she appeared very cat-like.

Oh wait, I think I saw her boobs in "Brokeback Mountain." :lol:

I think Anne Hathaway is a perfect choice for the role. As long as they don't mess up the character (or try a Michelle Pfeiffer 2.0) she'll do fine.

And just as long as it doesn't make her unavailable for Get Smart 2, of course!

Dang,

I was liking the Hugo Strange rumor. I think Hardy would've made for a good Dr. Strange, though I'm sure he can bring the menace to Bane as well. I wonder if how much, if any, they will incorporate the Knightfall storyline (one of my favorites). Not so cool with the Hathaway choice for Catwoman. To be fair I haven't really seen her movies, but she has a lightweight Katie Holmesque vibe. I wish they were going with Talia instead.

In fact I was hoping Nolan would play around with more of the more obscure Batman villains. But I guess after having the Joker and Two-Face in TDK, Catwoman seems like a logical progression. And Bane fulfills the relatively obscure quota. (I know he's not obscure to comics fans, but to the general public.)

I'm not really thrilled with the casting to tell you the truth. Hathaway doesn't strike me as someone to cast in an action role. She's a good actress, don't get me wrong but I don't see her as superhero, badass material. I kind of wish they had gone with a more lower-profile actress, not one as well known as Hathaway too.

The funny thing is that with her huge mouth and big teeth, Hathaway more like a female Joker.

Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong about this casting. I do like Tom Hardy as the main villain. He fights the criteria I mentioned well.

I like Tom Hardy as the main villain although I'm not a fan of the Hathaway casting. She doesn't strike me as someone to cast in a superhero/action role. Hopefully I'll be prove wrong. Her mouth and teeth do remind me of the Joker though.

Glad they didn't go higher profile and cast Johnny Depp in it. It just would have been Depp playing the same character he does in every movie. The weird, freaky, ambigiously gay guy.

Batman has the best rogue gallery in comics. Spider-Man's got a good one but outside of Goblin, Ock, and Venom, there really aren't a lot that are good enough for the big screen.

Here's hoping one day they decide to do The Joker again. I understand not using him for this role but the using the Joker shouldn't have to stop because Heath Ledger couldn't stop shoving pills down his throat.

I think using the Joker again in the Nolan movies isn't possible at all. The next batch of Batman movies, sure. But in Nolanverse?

No way.

^ I doubt that. That wouldn't fit in with the title. I suspect that this film will be even more darker than TDK was in tone.

I'm pretty happy with these actors. I am a little suprised by the Hathaway casting though, I know she's gone twoards the heavy dramas now, but I don't know if she's done action before. I do like Hardy as the villain though. Now since he's Bane does that mean he's gonna be buffing up? If this was mentioned up thread, I apologize I just skipped to the last page.

Fair enough. I don't know much about Hathaway. Most of the movies I see her advertised in appear to be frothy romantic comedies. Just because she was nominated for an Oscar doesn't mean she can handle the Catwoman role. Halle Berry has an Oscar and I don't think anyone wants to see her reprise her role as Catwoman.

Eh, Bane and Catwoman are not two characters I'm terribly excited to see but "In Nolan we trust" as I said a few years back with the casting of TDK.
Bane could be a bit of a mix of Bane and Strange. Could be interesting.
Catwoman. I'm really curious to see how that character fits into things.
