My projects.

I'm a hopeful writer. Have had two poems published. Three ST scripts written. Two movies on the go. Close to eight hundred ideas since 1993. Might make it someday.

Eighteen Years? There are milllions of poems published (well, how do you define published?) Were the ST scripts used? What do you mean by two movies on the go? Is it for a couple of film students at your local community college?

Frankly, if you were gonna "make it", it would have happened by now.

Ah, so you're unemployed. Got it.

Not necessarily, there are countless stories of people working away on stuff for years, and getting their big break later in life. Not saying that's the way to live your life, but it's happened before. Granted, in most of these cases the people have been chipping away at some staff position. Which doesn't seem to be the case in the latest TrekBBS dramatic show.

The ST scripts weren't sold. They were a bit formulaed. I sent one off in 1999 that was absolutely terrible. The two movies, I am aiming at the left of that continent about a few thousand miles to the west of me. There's a female writer who took till eighty to get recognised.

As others have said before me, if you're hoping to make it as a writer, you're going to need to do better than sounding like a quasi-self-aware computer.

I think it may even be logged that I was the first one to suggest that theory here. If you'd been smacked in the head as many times as I have, you'd feel a little detached, too.

No, seriously, though I do feel a bit Hal-like, sometimes, this place does me good.

This.

I mean... okay, you're an aspiring writer... that being said, you could have composed your opening post in a way that was basic, self-explanatory, and not just a random jumble of cryptic sentences. Then we'd know what you were talking about, substance-wise.

Hurray! Three pages into the thread, and we FINALLY have some idea of what sort of 'projects' these are!

Good GOD - that was like pulling teeth! I thought we would NEVER get it out of you. And it's not like ANY of this is a matter of national security or anything, so the mind-boggling degree of vagueness concerns me even more now than it did before, given your career objective.

And in light of that communication difficulty combined with the stated career objective......

^^^^^THIS.

Best advice in the thread.

And turning off all efforts at real communication because you've been 'beat around' or whatever is NOT going to get you published - it will only make matters infinitely worse.

Seems like that would be abundantly obvious to a writer...but what do I know?

Well, you did give me advice and understood my generalisms. As I have said, I've got stick for this pursuing this vocation and if I had told you what it was I was hoping to do, might have got some stick here.

That didn't happen, of course.

:rofl::rofl:

It seems you can lead a dead horse to water, flog him, and make him drink. But if you teach him how to build a desalination plant, you quench his thirst for a lifetime... or something like that. I'm not sure how much demand there is for Star Trek scripts -- I expect they'd have to be yoof-oriented and edgy to fit the current JJA zeitgeist.

Steve Meerson and Peter Krikes got something, after years, in ST4. They were going about it in a far different way, though.

My other two scripts aren't ST.

Huh?

English, dude... English.

Ok, I've run out of smartass shit to say. I'll be honest, I've taken a lot of scrutiny for things I've said and I am bitter over it, but I still stand by every statement I've ever made. Frankly you sound like someone begging for attention and you wine because people don't listen to you or take you seriously. It's really anoying to read a thread that you want to be interested in, but you can't because the person who started it is being so cryptic about it that nobody really knows what the fuck your talking about. Get over it already and tell us something. I already dont have a life and your waisting what little of a non life I don't have. Are you that starved for attention that you are purposely leading us on? I know it's my fault for even paying this thread any attention, but it's like watching a train wreck at this point. Please, I'm begging you, just tell us what this is all about do I can go on with my life. If you are a writer, your either a genius or quite possibly the worst writer ever. On one hand you've captivated us by telling us as little as possible, but hold our attention because of it, but on the other you've bored us to tears because you've told us absolutely dick. Eventually the morbid curiosity will fade and people will no longer give a shit. Your like the person version of " Caprica", it's unbelievably slow getting to the plot, but we hold on because we believe it's just right around the corner. Unlike "Caprica", however, I doubt the end of this story will be as cool and wrap things up nice and neat.

i have several projects as well. one came to me while playing pac man. disposable pantaloons for hippopotamus. so obvious. the political applications alone are worth billions i must say. my second project is to think of a thought i once had many years ago but forgot. it may have been false teeth for sharks but i am quite certain this is a dubious notion.

If this thread is itself a script, can we add own scenes to this story? I have a couple of ideas for scenes, but I may need to modify them.
