THANK YOU.

It ends on a Vick interception. How appropriate. Thank you for the congratulations, Roger Wilco. I appreciate that. Sorry about your team, dude, but I just won a shit load of money.

Good job, Packers! I had a feeling they were going to win tonight. :techman:

So after getting blanked yesterday, looks like I finished this playoff weekend 2-2. Stupid Seahawks and Jets.

Probability of the following teams winning the Super Bowl, as inferred from current online betting odds at Betfair:

New England 36%
Atlanta 14%
Pittsburgh 13%
Green Bay 12%
Chicago 10%
Baltimore 9%
New York Jets 5%
Seattle 1%

I can't believe the Eagles were in a position to win at the end of that game. No business being in that game. Vick should not have rushed the play, but oh well.

That done, here are my wishes for the Eagles' offseason: a decent linebacker; a cornerback to replace Patterson (aka Toast); a new defensive coordinator because Sean McDermott was riding on JJ's coattails and isn't that good.

Good for the Packers, this game was the karma reversal of the 4th and 26 play that FOX kept replaying from 2003. I think the Pack win next week, too. I'm just not convinced by the Falcons for some reason, and I can't really quantify why.

Just got back from Arrowhead.

Well . . . that sucked. But the better team won. The playoffs work.

Oh and Charlie Weiss, don't let the the door hit you on your rather large ass on the way out.

Sorry that didn't work out for you. I'll bet it was still a great experience. A playoff game at Arrowhead.

Well I would inclined to call myself a jinx since I'm now 0-2 for playoff games at Arrowhead, but seeing how the Chiefs haven't won a playoff game since 1993, I think the problem is bigger than me.

The results were not unexpected today, and as I said, I believe the better team won. What was distressing to me however was how inept the offense looked for the second week in a row. A lot of that credit goes to the good defense by the Ravens, but the Chiefs also were flat out bad on the offensive side of the ball and the defense couldn't shut down the Ravens all day.

We seemed to have the return of "Casshole" as some people have nicknamed him. After remarkable improvement, he totally regressed. My seats are in the end zone and for one of the interceptions I was pretty much sitting on a direct line behind him and I knew it was an interception before it ever left his hands. Yeah he was locked in that bad on the receiver. That's the part that's disheartening to me more than the loss, the fact that my suspicion was correct, and he is not the answer. I do NOT take any pleasure in being right.

I know a little something about attending heartbreaking games...

:scream:

It sucks, but you were there. You'll appreciate that after the sting wears off.

Oh and it was a nice and toasty warm day at Arrowhead. NOT! Now that was football weather.

It was a little shocking to see the number of no-shows. A lot of seats in the 2 rows in front of me were empty. I presume the weather may have been a contributing factor in that.

I thought the stadium looked a bit empty on TV but thought it was just due to people going inside to the concession stands to warm up. Sucks to hear there were so many fair weather fans who didn't show up and purchased tickets other fans would've actually used.

As for this weekend's games, like most I predicted yesterday's games completely wrong and today's correctly. I'm just hoping the "good" Bears team shows up against Seattle and don't completely fuck it up like they're prone to do.

Yeah, Cassel went back to "fail mode" these last couple of weeks. How many freaking interceptions did he have today? Sheesh! The Defense really did a good job but you could tell that in Third Quarter they were feeling it.

But Cassel? Three fucking interceptions?!

161 yards is also pretty damn sad too. The Offense just didn't show up at all today and the Defense was getting pounded and beat. We also only had 18 damn minutes of possession meaning the D was on the field the other damn 42 minutes getting slammed into by 200-lb men. Give the D credit on many of those first-half plays the score the could've been a lot worse!

Cassel and the O need to work on things between now and this Fall mostly just get stronger. But, as I said above, you've got to give the team credit for the turn-around they've made from last season and for managing to do what they did (again all on the D's side) today. Wish I could've been at the game today but work and an intense dislike for cold prevented it. ;)

Some non-playoff news that I completely fail to understand...

Nnamdi Asomugha contract voided
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6004943

Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha's contract voided and he will be allowed to become a free agent without the Oakland Raiders being able to use their franchise tag on him, Raiders senior executive John Herrera confirmed Sunday.

Asomugha's deal included a little-known clause that said his contract would void if he didn't achieve his not-likely-to-be-earned incentives in 2010 -- and he didn't.

His contract also contained a stipulation that if he didn't achieve his incentives, the Raiders would agree not to designate him their franchise or transition player.

The guy's contract is voided because he didn't achieve some lofty incentives? I'm not sure how that benefits the team in any way, so maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.

Whatever the case, this can't be good for the Raiders if he leaves.

Another observation about the playoffs. For all this talk about "home field advantage", good teams do what good teams do. They win. They win at home, they win on the road. 3 of the 4 games were won by the away team this weekend. The playoffs work.

As for the Seahawks, all I can say, if they win 4 in row (going back to the last regular season game against the Rams) including 2 road games against two very tough teams, then they will have earned their spot in the Super Bowl. If the remaining NFC teams in the playoffs believe a 7-9 team shouldn't be in the playoffs, then beat their ass.

The AFC matchups next week probably have the league drooling on themselves today. Ravens-Steelers is usually a deatch match, and the Pats-Jets rivalry is as strong as ever.

I'm hoping obviously that New England wins, while Baltimore and Pittsburgh beat the snot out of each other leaving a banged up team for the AFC title game. Also, Baltimore would scare me if they play the Pats to go to the Superbowl.

Great weekend of football, other than the second half of Chiefs-Ravens. I went to the gym and just watched in the background.
