Ladies of trek bbs, I was wondering am I the only lady out there who is having trouble finding a decent purses?
All the ones I find either, will not close after you put about 10p worth of change in them, or because I have more than two cards in the slots, or all my Pennies fall on the floor when I open it because the sides are poorly designed.
I have been trying to get rid of my old purse for about two years but have to keep putting back in my hand bag, because all the new ones I buy sends me nuts after one trip to the local shop.
At this rate I will just have to keep my pennies in the bank.

I prefer to keep coins and notes separate for this reason. I have a little zip up pouch purse to keep coins in.

I find the most practical thing for storing notes and cards are nylon wallets, which you can often find at souvenir shops. :)

I can't say that I've ever had a problem finding suitable purses. My main issue with them is, once having got used to which things go where in my old purse, I can't decide where to put which things in my new purse. At the moment I'm using a Fat Face purse that I bought in the sales 3 or 4 years ago. It was a great bargain, reduced from £50 to £20. Before that, I used Kipling purses for years. I found them to be perfect for every day. :)

I don't have an issue with purses really, and I switch up what I'm using quite regularly. Most of my purses have a zippered pocket so I can use that to store cash in and it doesn't fall out. Or, I'll put my cards and such in a tiny wristlet and dump that inside the purse.

Purse or wallet?

I’ve gotten Coach purses at the outlets in Vegas at great prices. As for wallets, I found a leather one at Nordstrom Rack I love. The center slot holds bills flat; there’s a zipper pouch on one side for change; the other side has slots for id/credit cards. That’s a bit full right now, as it has 2 credit cards, D/L, AAA card, medical insurance card, and a whole bunch of membership cards from various stores. But the whole thing is still pretty compact and fits in all but the smallest of purses.

International translation service - a purse in the UK is what you keep your money in, which you then put in a handbag. A purse in the US is the handbag.

I bought a Radley purse on sale about 5 years ago and, though it looks small, holds no end of crap. I can't have too much change in it but the zippered change bit has two compartments so I can keep the pound coins separate from the smaller change. It's still in very good condition so well worth the $30 Cdn I spent on it.

I carry a "wallet on a string" it's a really big wallet with a full-length strap and I carry a giant carry-all that I dump it and all matter of stuff I never seem to need. I paid a lot for both and cannot quite bring myself to pay more money for another.

That reminds me, and sorry to pop in like this, but I hate starting spin-off threads: I feel the same way about eye-wear. The best looking pair of glasses I ever owned was a Tommy Hilfiger design that I bought twice, which fell apart on me both times, once because I fell on my face, the other time from the simple act of placing it on a nightstand. I went back to the same store, and after being told that it cannot be fixed this time either, was willing to risk buying a brand new one for the third time, but they were out. Then I combed the city for something equally awesome, and ended up settling for the least undesirable option. Later I ran into my college professor who wears the exact same pair. So yeah, I have old man glasses.

I got my most recent pair of glasses in India and it's the first pair I've actually liked enough to wear. They're good quality, my eyelashes don't hit the lenses, and I don't get headaches. Plus they were less expensive!

reg. handbags, what i hate is that the inner linings wear out faster than the outside of the bag...also too many pockets/pouches! I like some pockets but not so many that I forget which one I had placed something in.

I'm always in search of that perfect handbag. No such thing exists.

I tend to carry the same bag day after day, sometimes for a year or more. Then I tire of it, or damage it, and change it out. I usually carry a black or brown bag so that it goes with most outfits.

I was hoping to get a handbag for Christmas, but sadly, no. Still, I find my needs/wants in a bag depend upon what I'm doing. As for my wallet, I'm using the same, beat up old velcro blue wallet I've had for years and years. It has a zippered pocket for change and don't often have problems with it.

I do the same with handbags.
I nearly went mad on Tuesday and nearly spent £55 on a bag, but I notice it was damaged and the one in the back was the wrong colour.

You have more handbags than shoes, infact your probably going to need a special cupboard for all of them the rate you change bags

Oh, you need to go shopping with me. I could find you that perfect handbag. I actually love all of mine, out of which all but one have been gifts. They each have a different purpose, feel, style, etc. I love rotating purses but it is nice to have a go-to purse for any basic occasion.

Purse or wallet?
That was my question.

Over here in the U.S. this is a purse:

and this is a wallet:

Sounds to me like you're talking about a wallet.

So I would say over here we don't have the same kind of problems you're having keeping your stuff together.
