Speaking of the song, I heard the word silence and my ears perked up. Here are fragments of the lyrics that I could hear.

In a similar vein there were several comments about being "halfway through the darkness," most notably the doctor in the last scene.

One thought regarding the Galaxy-class issue: on reflection it's a fairly unimaginative name for a spaceship type!

According to the composer on the confidential, one one told him he had to to write a NEW carol till the last minute and he couldn't be bothered living up to his obligations till the last seconds when they told him that the song was for Jenkins.

(Were these songs written for the episode? Anyone know what the titles are, and might they be included on the episode's score, which I read would be coming out?)

These songs were written by Murray Gold, conducted by Ben Foster with BBC National Orchestra of Wales and sung by Katherine Jenkins

It was literally written at the last moment.

Fans have dubbed it "Abigale's song"

"When you’re alone, Silence is all you see,
When you’re alone, Silence is all you’ll be.
Give me your heart to come to me.

"When you are here, music is all around.
When you are near, music is all around.
Open your eyes; don’t make a sound.
"Meet in the shadow! Meet in the shadow!
"Meet in the light of your bright shadow!"

"Meet in the shadow! Meet in the shadow!
"Meet in the light of your bright shadow!"

well I just got the shock of my life browsing this thread.

Sorry!

Wasnt he a Cyberman in the S2 finale?
Was he?
according to wikipedia yes he was a Cyberman in Rise of the Cyberman and a cameo as himself in SJA: Invaison of the Bane, and for some reason he is also credited with the role of Dalek in Journey's End, but that seems wrong to me.

I can confirm the Cyberman & Invasion of the Bane apperance, but not the Dalek one.

The Cyberman thing was part of a report for Blue Peter I think. Don't know about the Dalek one.

Do you have to register at GB?
You do have to blind register at GB. It's one of the things I think the forum should change -- how does someone know they want to register to post to a bulletin board if they can't even read it to find out if it's the kind of place they want to be? The board's owners think otherwise. Their reasoning is that the forum's posters deserve their privacy (it's a bit like Fight Club in a way; even quoting a GB post elsewhere is a violation of membership there) and the search engine bots can't index the forum if it's not publicly visible (which can be handled quite easily with a robots.txt file).

That said, I don't think the whole board should be publicly viewable -- leave the Spoiler forums hidden unless you have the appropriate cookie in your browser -- but I see no harm in letting someone see the Sarah Jane forum if they want to get a feel for what GB is like.

I've steered clear of the "Christmas Carol" subforum. I generally stick to the Books and Magazines fora, plus some of the general media fora.

I got banned from GB. That's right, they even gave a major fandom figure like me the shove.

Well, I just watched it, and I'm not goin' to read through over twenty pages to see what all y'all have to say.

Instead, I'll say it was average-ish. It was fun, and I liked the Doctor's initial trip to Christmas Eve of the past - that was hysterical. But my favorite part had to be Amy & Rory's honeymoon roleplay.

And, of course, "You travel with a Roman?" "Yeah, I do that."

Can't wait to see River Song in the new season (love the trailer for the sixth series)!

Like that's difficult. They ban anyone for any random reason. Even people who have written for the series and for books. It's pretty easy to get banned there, really. That and the mods there are the reasons I don't choose to visit.
