December Challenge- True Originals

I am new here, and was just wondering for this contest, is it ok to refer to Geneticly altered humans from the Eugenics Wars? I have a great Idea for a character that will refer to some characters but not be any of them.

Very sorry for the late reply.:alienblush:
Yes, you can use GA humans as long as they are not the canonical onscreen ones. So no Jack pack, Doctor Bashir or...

Khan.

(What? Did you actually expect me to do the shout?:p)

And let me offer you a (belated) welcome to the TrekBBS, SYCkoson.

Can I use a character who is a distant descendant of Hoshi Sato? She won't be mentioned at all, but the character's family name draws a connection. LMK thanks.

^No mention of Hoshi at all, the prof is a distant descendant and has the same last name, and is a xenolinguistics teacher.

Is it that important that it must be Sato's descendant? Changing the surname would fix this and remove any doubts if it breaks rules or not.

No, it doesn't HAVE to be. Just forget I asked, I didn't mean to make an issue of it, plus now if I entered the story I'd have all this hanging over it.

BTW Santa Damar, your message box is full. I tried to IM you the question but couldn't, which is why I asked here.

I would like to participate in your challenge as well ThorDamar, but I need a little help again. If you or another native would have a bit time on his or her hand to give my story a spell and grammar check and a general "Fits the challenge or fits not the challenge, is ok to read or absolutly terrible"- feedback, I´d very much appreciate that. The story is again very short, only around 750 words (not even two pages).
Its called "For Cardassia", so this maybe is a smallish reference to someone we know, but otherwise there is no known character inside, actually the character not even has a name....but it does play in a known place and a known situation...so not sure, if thats allowed.
Anyway...someone has a bit time to look over it?

Thanks!

TerokNor

I'm not trying to make an issue. I'm just trying to help; it would be a shame if you posted your work for the challenge and it would occur not to meet the requirements. I thought changing a name of a character would not be a big deal. Obviously, it is.
