Well done! :) I have a somewhat similar story, in that I was a pack-a-day smoker and ran out of cigarettes late one night and couldn't be bothered to drive to the 24-hour store. By the following afternoon I realised that I'd not bought any more cigarettes, so I quit cold turkey. I thought I coped with it quite well but a few years later my brother told me that I was a total bitch for a fortnight, but he and my parents wanted me to quit so they never said anything, bless them.

    OK I'll bite:

    10. Due to a relatively rare heritary condition, I've continued to grow physically well past adolescence. At 21, I suddenly grew 2 inches taller in 6 months. At 28, I'm finally reaching my 'adult' size. Before this condition manifested itself, my pediatrician projected I would be no more than 5'0" tall. I'm currently 5'9".

    9. I often fantasize about throwing all my possessions into one big pile, then lighting them on fire.

    8. I learned to operate motor vehicles by pulling giant pontoon boats out of the water on steep launch ramps with an old pick up truck when I was 9.

    7. I was not exposed to contemporary music until my teens.

    6. I have two siblings who are 24 and 25 years my senior, respectively.

    5. I photoshop adult content for a living. Contrary to what some may assume, it fucking sucks!

    4. I did not celebrate holidays growing up, and am still clueless on how to handle them.

    3. I feel more like an angry, rebellious adolescent in my late 20's than I ever did when I was in my actual teen years.

    2. I do not consider Disneyland the happiest place on earth.

    1. I've gained quite the positive reputation as a skilled cook. My mother now turns to me for kitchen advice, instead of the other way around.

It would be hard to find 10 things about me that aren't obvious or people don't know already, but I'll give it a try.

    1. I am right-handed.
    2. My heart is too big for my own chest. Literally.
    3. My head is too big for my own good. Metaphorically.
    4. I am great with accents: I pick them up in no time and I can mimic them very well.
    5. I dubbed my first katana Iguana no Tsume, "Iguana's Claw".
    6. I have a nice, deep, soothing voice.
    7. My first personal computer was a Philips MSX 8020.
    8. I lived in three different cities in Italy.
    9. I can't bend my big toes.
    10. I have no patience with stupid.

Ok, maybe people already knew the last one. :p

    1. I am a Yankees *and* Mets fan, which apparently is considered unusual.

    2. My favorite TV show is Corner Gas.

    3. I have never seen Titanic OR The Simpsons, nor do I ever want to.

    4. I love trains. If my city had decent mass transit, I'd sell my car.

    5. Corollary to #1: Even though I am a Yankees fan and therefore hate the Red Sox with the fire of a thousand suns, I actually enjoyed Boston itself when I visited the place, and I think Fenway Park is kind of cool.

    6. I collect baseball games on DVD.

    7. I love coffee. Especially a toffee mocha at Starbucks.

    8. I hate small talk. I could go all day without saying a word. And often do.

    9. I also hate the sound of my own voice.

    10. Unlike Bears here, I cannot cook. For example, once I tried to make pudding from scratch, and I ended up with scrambled eggs. :guffaw:

Bears, regarding #5 on your list, I envy you. It takes a certain talent, creativity, or skill to be able to do what you do. I realize you don't have to elaborate, but do you dislike the hours or salary and benefits?

The Photoshop work is not the issue. I generally enjoy the digital retouching and graphic design work, though I wish I was a higher eschelon retoucher than the level I currently work at. That's something only I can work on improving, though.

The problems I have with my job lie with adult industry in general and my employer in particular, with a nice dollop of dismal employment/decent salary prospects in the field, something I was admittedly blindsided by when I decided to pursue retouching work.

Yeah our clientele are uh, "special" to say the least, and they get away with way more abuses within our company than they would with say, the gas company.
