You're the only person in this thread who has brought up the idea that Yankees fans shouldn't be peeved if Jeter were to leave (I know you have a persecution complex, but jeez). Other people have simply been saying that the guy is declining rapidly, is not worth the money and the years that he's demanding (especially since his defense is below average, at best, now -- lots of SportsCenter highlights of making a jumping throw from short doesn't make you a stellar defender), and the Yankees front office is more right than not for playing hardball with his agent.
