What Are the Election Results in Your State and Are You Happy?

I would like to see some sanity applied to marijuana policy. And I think it would be good to go through the process of forcing this debate on a national level. So many different issues are involved (states rights being one of them).

I think the notion of Obama cutting off funding or invading the last Blue State in America with federal agents over pot was a bluff. But I do understand the complexities, especially for neighboring states.

Maybe California just needs to secede from the union.

California should leave, its becoming a pretty sizable detriment. And is on the verge of collapse.

But as an FYI, the DEA has been shutting down 'medical' marijuana clinics at a slow but steady rate whenever they have the time. But given the dubious nature of the 'medical' system I think Prop 19 wasn't needed. I was stuck on a plane next to a total stoner who was waving around his medical card. I demanded to know what his condition was. The answer? He didn't sleep well after a week in jail for drug possession.

I live in the state of Georgia. I am A liberal stuck in a republican lovin state. They just love Sarah Palin and think barrack obama is a muslim, My IQ drops daily.

I truly feel your pain, though in completely the opposite way; living in the seemigly intractable blue of Massachusetts. Perhaps we should both consider moving :/

Only today did the final results from our Attorney General Race come out, as Cooley has conceded to Harris.

This was obviously a tight race, and closely watched because of the implications toward medical marijuana.

This means that as Republicans swept into office across the country, Democrats have won every consitiutional office in California, and Barbara Boxer was re-elected to US Senate. And most races weren't even close (Brown defeated Whitman by 13 points despite her spending upwards of $160 million).

So yes I am happy. It appears we are now officially the only Blue State left in America!

:lol:

In my state? Yes. I'm from New York and most of the extreme Tea Bagger types lost, in particular, Carl Palladino. So NY remains a blue state.

It is true that Obama inherited a whole ROOM full of dirty dishes...but it is also true that he NEVER had the experience necessary for the considerable task that was in front of him, and the whole country (except for me and about 3 other people) was just swept up in that whole savior mentality without really thinking about the fact that he had not a REAL clue, underneath all the rhetoric.

Utter crap. I was (and am) a huge Obama supporter but in no way viewed him as a savior. The only people I've heard bring up "savior" have been people trying to slam him. Obama has done a hell of a lot in a very corrupt politica system. I've been impressed with him on a number of issues and on the amount of things he's done. Could he've done more? Sure. Did he make mistakes? Absolutely. Anyone would. To say Obama hasn't done anything is ridiculous and ill informed.

I put my faith in Obama much more than I do in any of the other former frontrunners like Clinton, McCain, Edwards or Romney.

I'm with you, pal. I'd also like to add another factor -- the GOP's just say no strategy in Congress. Obviously, it worked, so maybe Democrats, now in the minority in the House, should adopt the same policy and stick with it. It's apparent that "compromise" with the GOP doesn't mean the same thing most reasonable people think it is. In other words, to them, compromise is when the Democrats agree with their position. And that's just nonsense.

I'll add that as I implied above, some of the more extreme Tea Bagger candidates across the country -- Sharon Angle, Christine O'Donnell, and Joe Miller, to name a few -- lost their races, and that's a silver lining for a pinko like me!

:adore::adore::adore::adore::adore: Sidious, i think i love you.

Well ... more so.

I'm in Florida.

The GOP House candidate for my district won. :techman:

Rick Scott won the Governorship--he wasn't my pick for the ticket, but I'm good with him. :techman:

We held the state Congress.

And of course--MARCO RUBIO!!! :techman::techman::techman:

As The Gipper would say, "All in all, not bad. Not bad at all." :cool:

I live in Illinois. Pat Quinn held onto the governor's seat against a horrendous downstate redneck (apologies for the redundancies) who, among many other disgusting social positions, wanted to ban abortion under all contexts. Mark Kirk won Obama's former Senate seat, but anyone who gets an F from the NRA and a 100% from Planned Parenthood has to be one of the better Republicans out there. I couldn't vote in this election because Illinois wouldn't process my registration change from California in time. Social conservatives suck, however, and will never win in Illinois or California, so I'm fairly at ease with how things went in both states.

Yeah the elections where a big win for Republicans, but when they finally start enacting their "Cuts", it will be a big win for democrats in 2012.

Yes. Rep screw up, Dem fix it, but struggle because the rep don't like working together, then America stupidly believes in the BS claims of rep, who then get back into power, but screw it up. America is a broken record.
