Did Ezri violate the Trill Taboo?

picture.php

Never noticed that she is left handed.

Folks...I never cease to be amazed by all the people who dare to denounce Ezri like they do--especially considering that she can handle Worf!

^ indeed. the evil mods locked the old one.

we've had a thread about sisko's bald head, about ezri's breasts, about worfs penis... whats next? we need to find something quick!

Don't forget about the one involving O'Brien's moobs. :barf:

Thats something that I've always wondered about... What if Sisko had called Worf a coward?

Well, we do know that Worf was intimidated by Sisko. ;)

Ezri can "handle" Worf? Yeah well, so could Deanna Troi, apparently. That's something I never found especially impressive.

Frankly, I never understood the whole thing with Worf and rough sex. I mean, Jadzia was a sturdier woman than Ezri or Troi, and trained in Klingon combat, so my question is, if sex with Worf was so damn violent, how did the act of mating with him not kill poor petite little Ezri and/or Troi? Was he just holding back with them in a way he didn't with Jadzia? In any case I'm glad the Worf/Ezri "pairing," such as it was, was brief.

^I was, of course, referring to Worf's line to Guinan in "Yesterday's Enterprise" (TNG), that, "Earth females are too fragile" for him.

As for Ezri...again, your point should cause a doubt as to how far those two went.

Of course...there is the question as to whether she actually did "do it" with Worf....

I dunno--Worf and Jadzia "make out"--and have to go to Julian about their severe injuries. As Worf himself once noted, "Earth females are too fragile".

The worst Ezri got was a slight ache in the neck.

And of course...they both slept clothed.
So does that mean she only gave him head?

I would say "Yes", he does.
Wasn't that the point of his story in "Let He Who is Without Sin"? That he is afraid to really hurt a human, so he does hold back.

I'm not sure why you insist on doubting the fact that Worf and Ezri slept together. When they were in the prison cell or whatever and discussing it, Worf said "When I made love to you ...." Unles "make love" means something different in the 24th century, that line pretty much establishes that they made love, had sex, mated, whatever you want to call it. In any case, I didn't like the "pairing" anymore than I like Worf/Troi on TNG. Come to think of it, since they were both petite counselors ill-suited to a Klingon warrior, Worf/Ezri was kind of a Worf/Troi re-tread.

I don't know why, really....

I'm just fascinated by the oddities. Remember, Worf also said he saw her as Jadzia, that night.

And, as Julian could attest in "Looking For Par'Mach..." Jadzia and Worf liked it rough....

Personally, I think you want to doubt the fact that they slept together because you are so pro- Bashir/Ezri that you want to pretend Ezri/Worf never happened or had any feelings for each other. I've done that with certain ships myself.

I mean, I myself didn't care for throwing Jadzia-lite at Bashir in the end but to each their own. Just because she and Worf made a mistake and slept together shouldn't take away from your favorite couple, though.

You're free to think so. But you know...it doesn't really affect Julian/Ezri, does it?

I hardly think Julian saw Ezri as Jadzia-lite--but I've argued that point to death. Again...if my dedication to Julian/Ezri were the only issue...this would not be relevent.

In the long term this helps keep Trill society vibrant and dynamic and prevents the joined from dominating positions of power, as they have to work themselves up through the ranks with each new joining.
But Ezri was already in Starfleet herself. And she didn't inherit Jadzia's rank. She was an ensign, then promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Jadzia was Lieutenant Commander.

The way I see it, so Ezri threw herself into Worf arms once, once. The girl wanted to have fun with the bad boy on the Harley, its so unheard of. But in the end, the bad boy isn't the one they'll marry. So Rush, I think you're in the clear. No need for denial, its a valid theory.

^Well...if it's "bad boy on the Haley", it's not denial, so much as it is concern for her character's integrity. I'd imagine Jadzia being so free with her body, but Ezri...no.

I've long contended that Ezri takes intimacy quite seriously. Note how she balked at Julian trying to flirt with her...or how she bascially brushed off Quark--and Ilario (in "Field of Fire").

Worf noted that he considers physical intimacy "a deeply spiritual act". Ezri, considering her reaction when Worf suggested she "knew" a lot of men in "Strange Bedfellows" (she made a leap to Jadzia--and got a bit worked up over the comparison)--to say nothing of her reaction in "Penumbra"--I would say holds a similar (albeit less "intense") view.

But as she noted in "Strange Bedfellows", "Part of me--the part that was your wife--wanted very much to be close to you." That was her reason for anything--however mild or intense--that happened on Goralis. To be honest, in that same episode, she also came to regret it, for more than one reason. One of which, I would imagine, would be allowing the Jadzia in her to temporarily disregard the taboo.

Hmm, you have a very good point there Rush, i'll give you that. Still, i wouldn't think too much into it.

The situation she's in. hell, any other joined trill is in, is just to complicated to analyze. Believe me, I tried. In one of my fanfics, i went into detail regarding the trill society. And to tell you the truth, even with my psychology background, it confused me. there is truly nothing you can compare it too. the closest i could get was some sort of schizophrenia, but is the mother of all long shot's. (terrible grammar i know :))

now, i dont have a degree, or phd or whatever you yanks call it yet, but i challenge any trained psychologist to give this a shot.
