is there a bluray?

ENT hasn't been released on Blu-ray so far, and AFAIK currently there are no plans to do so in the future.

The DVD's look pretty freakin' sweet on my 1080p set upscaled through a PS3. Not sure if there is a need for a Blu-ray release.

Hi
i know that enterprise was broadcated in HD
but is there a bluray?
where?
thanks

Not all seasons were shot on HD. I think it was 3 and 4 only, if I remember correctly.

For a VERY brief time, CBS had HD episodes of Enterprise available to stream on cbs.com. Now, they're only SD.

Personally, I believe the next major Star Trek Blu-ray release will be some kind of TNG-R best of box-set - perhaps a dozen episodes or so. I do worry about the future of post TOS Trek as larger HD displays/broadcasting/sources become the norm by default - I just don't think Paramount are willing to pony up the cash for the extraordinary amount of work involved in re-editing the original film elements, creating HD masters, new SFX etc.

IIRC, season three and four were the only episodes broadcasted in high definition; the entire series was produced in HD. :techman:

Seasons 1 and 2 were done on film, 3 and 4 done on high definition video. All live action footage was shot in 1080p, special effects were rendered at 480p (standard definition).

In Cincinnati, they were never broadcast in HD as UPN had no HD outlet here.

Ya got me! :) Film, however, can easily converted into HD without loss in quality. At least so I've heard.

^ AFAIK, only HDNet has rights to broadcast ENT in high definition. I don't know if this is still true, though.

I'm talking about the original network run. Our UPN station wasn't broadcasting in HD at the time (not many were), but we got the text at the bottom "In HD, where available".

CBS.com had the episodes in HD for awhile, but they took them down after a month or so... :(

I've seen Ent in HD on uverse HDNET channel (was on in summer) and those were pretty sweet. anyone have an opinion, HD vs blueray, I would think HD is enough, the quality and no commercials was excellent.

Blu-ray is the home video format for delivery of HD content. But content delivered on Blu-ray often looks better than content delivered on cable due to the cable signal being compressed.

And how do we know this?
