Howcome it was you lot that pointed me to the fact that Bill shatner wore a wig in the TOS, which he probably did, and you can't see this? Unless you were all his make up assistants and are now 96.
And lokai, you have a really appropriate avatar. I haven't repeated the same mantra. I just go on computers with different screen sizes and use the zoom button on my DVD player. I will go and look for the maths algorithm that does it, if you want.
There was a massive debate about the colour bits of the cage. My guess, is, if they could find a way to just continue upscaling, right to ultra high def 3d, and no-one could tell, or at least 95% of people couldn't , they would. Obviously. It's cheaper.
They are processed 525 line, I guess.
You only have to look at that Jimmy Doohan screencap to see it is video blurring and to guess, to 80%, the source video:
525 line, I would say.
People keep blurring and colourising the images they post.
Loads of film companies are just processing standard DVD, I would guess, from what I've seen and read. It's cheaper.
I would guess the just spent a couple of bucks on a processing program.
As to the klingon subtitles, they are part of the menu program and can be deleted, transferred, I guess
You seem to like that word "guess" quite a bit. That's a lot of guessing, and accusing other posters of altering the images they have shown...including myself.NASA have been able to do it since the 60's. You can enhance an image to show what may only be partially there in the original, it's just limited that's all. That's what they've done here, I guess and so do others on the net.
Oh, I have watched it many, many times - umm, on Blu-ray recently. I seem to lack the required intellect to decipher your cryptic and no doubt savvy and shrewd response, so perhaps you could enlighten me with a direct and unambiguous exposition. You should watch the episode, to find out why the avatar is appropriate.
I'd heard that Star trek was like a religion, but this is like being tortured.
And, to think, i'll fall on my knees when I finally get to the smithsonian and see TOS enterprise.
For God's sake, look go back through my posts, look at Trek Core, look at other film screencaps, look at the NASA link, look up image processing and upscaling algorithm.Press the zoom button on your DVD player, but make sure you haven't had a drink first.
Then, ask for a rerelease. I would, but I haven't got bluray yet.
