I wonder if Ginn was really used to push the Eli/Chloe relationship to a new level. He's not going to be seen as the little lapdog anymore.

Chloe needs to go. She serves no purpose on this show despite the writers attempting to make her some super computing alien proxy.

Should've killed Chloe instead of Ginn. Man this makes me angry.

So, are both women dead? Or did Amanda's mind slip back to her body? And when Perry collapsed on Earth why in the world would someone not have dialed up Destiny to ask what was up?

I just thought of a missed opportunity, how awesome would it have been if Ginn had opened the door wearing the "You Are Here" shirt?

I agree that they should kill off Chloe instead of Ginn, but there's nothing we can do about it. And yes, both women are dead unless the SGC has a sarcophagus or something and that might not even work.

I'd be amazed if they straight out telegraphed Ginn actually being dead in the trailer. Maybe there's an out.

As for the sarcophagus...that's in the "Let's pretend this never happened" file in the Stargate franchise. Could have been used many, many times (Dr. Fraser, etc) and never was.

They actually used the line "Ginn is dead" or some variation of it in the preview.

As for SG-1, they never really had access to a sarcophagus aside from one or two incidents. Sure they had the Telchak healing thing, but that turned dead people into zombies, so they weren't ever going to use it.

I gave it a 9. Destiny's mission seems fascinating. Seems like something that'll turn into a real game changer for the world of Stargate. If they ever figure out what the ancients failed to, they could redefine a lot of things with this new found knowlege and power. And for the first time, the title "Stargate Universe" makes a bit of sense. I've been wondering about the title on and off since the show began.

Felt like all this should have come out halfway through season 1.

Was Eli a virgin, is this girl his first?
I was wondering the same thing for a while now. It would have been nice if they dealt with it, but I guess they decided to go the "it's private" route. And either way, I wanted to share in Eli's excitement at banging a hot alien girl.

I like Volker.

He and Brody make a nice 'scientific' contrast to Rush, whose ego at times eclipses his brilliance. The other two are a lot more human in many respects.
I like them too. They're growing on me. Good supporting civilian characters. Normal folks about the ship.

Dr. Perry! She's awesome too.
And she looked great in Ginn's outfit. Looked like they even put McNiven's hair coloring on Kathleen Munroe. Or maybe it's just a coincidence that the two actresses have similar coloring. Also, I wonder... Does the production have to keep several versions of the same clothes on-hand for certain stone swap sequences when the actors aren't the same size?

Back to confrontational black guy!
Greer to the rescue. I loved that part.

Why does no one ever go looking for Rush?
Because they don't want to trigger a crazy attack or stumble upon him masturbating or something while he's working in his crazy hall.
:rommie:

Why does no one ever go looking for Rush?

Yeah, that's currently the biggest plot-hole, IMO. I mean Young doesn't trust him any further than he could throw him out an airlock, so you'd think he'd make a point of learning where he goes.

I sure as hell would.
He'd probably know he was being followed. He could also get away using a turbo lift or whatever. Do they even call them turbo lifts? I don't remember.

Skyline is either going to be really good or really bad
It's a rental. Barely.

Rush better not bang Eli's woman.

I'd pay good money to see Eli punch out Rush.
That was a good scene too. Eli walking in on Rush making out with his new girlfriend. :rommie:

Oh shit, T-Bag is gonna shank Perry.
That's what it looked like. I feel gutted just thinking about it. No pun intended. I'll comment more next week.

If Destiny's role is to travel the universe and map the structure of the cosmic background radiation, why the trouble with a fleet of seed ships and stargates on every decent planet along the way? What importance do the individual planets have?
I was thinking about that too. What part do the gates play in this?

Didn't they learn from anything Troi? Don't let the woman fly the ship!

I was thinking that's what you get when you let the quadriplegic drive.
Nice touch the way they had her struggling with the pen.

I agree....best by far, so far. Keep it up guys!
I'm surprised people liked it so much. It still had the Rush/Young kerfuffle and a lot of exposition.

About why Destiny is also laying down gates. The Ancients have always had an interest in exploring other worlds and making contact with aliens. It's no surprise they'd want to fill the universe with Stargates along their journey on this mission. It would make exploring worlds easier, and also make reaching the far distances of the universe easier. I don't really see a problem with it, it just makes sense to me that the Ancients would seed the universe with Gates, in addition to Destiny fulfilling its mission.

This episode, is right up there with time for me.
It's a shame its going to get canned just as I begin to like it.
It's Enterprise all over again.
Just one thing? Should Young be able just to snap Rush's neck, with out breaking into a sweat. Instead of rolling about all over the floor with him.

Young is almost constantly drunk. I doubt he's kept himself in physical shape, despite the training regimens he ordered Scott to set up for the crew in season one.

Aside from being a really cool sequence that showed off how math-savy Eli was, and how neat it looked to jump out of a spinning red and white (Canadian) spaceship, wouldn't it have been easy enough just to send another kino or two out to get them?

9 Chevrons for me... Best episode of the season. One of the top three so far.

+ Finally the end to the 'secret'
+ Cool space stuff :-)
+ The mention of gravity working (just as I was shouting at the TV "how come the gravity is still on!")

I sure hope that the preview for next episode is very misleading.

The episode gave SGU a slight boost in viewership, with an estimated 1.074 million viewers
SGU‘s ratings were a 0.7 HH and 0.4 HH in the demo this week.

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2010/11/stargate-ratings-up-for-the-greater-good/

Im too sad to put up another thread. What more needs to be said. I thought they be higher, way higher.
Too many people have been burned by SGU at this point for things to improve without a massive revamp. And based on the ending, I wouldn't be surprised by either a drop due to people being pissed by Ginn/Perry's deaths or a rise due to the action look of the preview.

You thought the ratings would be higher in the middle of Basket ball season and as shows are wrapping up for the midseaon cool down?

I'm not saying you won't see better numbers later just as the show goes into hiatus...there is an anticipation factor even for SGU...but you've got to step out of the fanaticism. People are leaving because the show is forgettable or unwatchable.

Your persistence is to be admired but others would rather be pleased by the shows they watch rather than the other way around.
