Your Holiday Wish List

Gryffindorian

What items would you like to get as gifts or get for yourself this coming holiday season? My family and I usually exchange gift cards, and we all buy what we want. For me personally, I'd like to buy the following. What's on your wish list?

* Samsung Galaxy Tab
* Sims 3 for PS3
* Lord of the Rings Trilogy Special Extended Edition on Blu-Ray
* Avatar Special Extended Edition on Blu-Ray

Well I can tell you what I want, but none of it will happen because no one can afford it.

For example, I really want a new LCD TV for my living room, but I know none of my family could ever buy me that, too expensive.

So, I have to be realistic and ask for things I know people can afford.

- Clothes, easy option, I've requested long sleeve shirts for the winter, a light jacket, and a new pair of house shoes

- I really could use some new dishes and cups in my kitchen

- Money and Giftcards, easiest of options, and pretty much all I request anyway, allows me to go buy the things I want or need, there is this pair of external hard drive enclosures I really want, so just giving me money will help me purchase those, I also have some things on my car I need looked at, and I also need to put some money back in my savings

I guess you could say, this Christmas will be all about practical, and probably not much about want, more about need.

This year I mainly wish for some money that helps supporting my plans for next year (New Zealand...and maybe a project in some other country... Moldawia, India, Nepal or Romania or so...).

TerokNor

Dune on Blu-ray (i know i'm getting this. We picked it up last night.)
All of B5 (we also picked up a couple of seasons last night)
Inception on BR.

That's all i can think of right now. Not into clothing or jewelry or stuff like that. Movies and tv shows make me happy!

A second Ipad.

A brand new desktop, this old AMD 1.5mhz box just doesn't cut it anymore.

New work clothes, as my job is office-based not production now.

And of course the standard peace on earth/all cultures and religions living in harmony.... It's more likely that I'll shit gold coins before that happens though.

I'm not sure what I want, but my dream gift would be Opening Day tickets to the San Francisco Giants in 2011. Just being there, watching the team raise the banner and get the rings would be awesome, since I couldn't go to any of the World Series games or the Parade.

To have a better year in 2011. Summed up basically as no one close (family/friends' family) dying for a good long time.

All the things I really want I end up buying myself because I don't like the idea of people spending lots of money on me. My parents help me out with so many things that I never want them to buy me gifts (for example, when I bought my new car a couple months ago, my dad came with me and wrote a check for $2,000 to help with the downpayment, even though I was fully prepared to pay for everything myself).

My family and I do Secret Santa, and we usually have about a $30 limit, so it prevents us from buying big things for each other.

Amen to the peace on earth part. But I have to ask about the iPad... I love mine. But why do you want two?

And I'll add no crime/violence for a long time (like forever).

I'll echo the sentiments of a better 2011. Things can always get better, and hopefully they do no matter how big or small.

I'd like a job. Something that pays about $500 a week (that's half what I grossed before the layoff, but with my modest pension, it would be enough).

I want my family (including cats) to have a peaceful, happy christmas and new year. That's all that really matters.

It's worth all the iPads in the world.
