whole lotta ignorance in this thread...

it's funny, I hear people snarking on and talking smack about vegans much more than I see vegans bothering other people about what they're eating...

They use replicators in the future; you can eat all the meat you want without killing animals.

I eat a TON of meat BTW.

I don't know about that, I've noticed that veggies tend to get in peoples faces and advocate their own dietary preferences a lot more that your average Human omnivore.

Prior to Micheal Dorn switching his diet, did you EVER hear about him discussing his diet?

Teapartiers do know how to party (and win elections).

If you're eating the mainstream diet of the culture you live in, there's no reason to discuss it.

There's no reason to discuss it no matter what your diet. Just do it. The only time I ever discuss my diet with others is: when they become confrontational about theirs, when meal planning or when talking to my doctor about my diabetes.:techman:

This. Mainly because folks eating the S.A.D. never give their diet a thought.

I'm a veggie but I think meat is not necessarily bad for you, I just know that for me, I can't eat much of it. I'm not going to lie that I've known some vegan nazis, but I know a lot more folks who are veg and don't talk about it.

And while I know it is true that you can be healthy as a veg, a lot of folks aren't and could use a little good quality meat as an easy fix. Some organic grass-fed bison is 100% healthier than a soy/seitan veggie burger.

The thing that bothers me about PETA is hypocrisy regarding their euthanasia record. They put down enormous amounts of animals. In fact they have purchased animals from no kill shelters and then put them down. They said the reason for their decisions is economical, and that they could easily go no-kill if they wanted to.

It's ironic that for an organization that is so preachy about animal rights, is putting down cats and dogs left and right.
