USS ENTERPRISE HAYNES OWNERS MANUAL (Part 3)

Even better - it was waiting for me when I got home tonight.

It's a really nice book that goes into more detail than just the ships themselves, covering FTL, Transporters, Time Travel , Parallel Universes and Deflectors Shields as well.

I pre-ordered the book for Kindle and received this message...
"Thank you for your purchase. This book will be auto-delivered wirelessly to your Kindle on December 31, 2030."

 :rommie:

Ah, the good ol' Amazon Kindling...

I love how all the bookstores are now plugging their e-readers... like my local B&N has a Nook display that takes up like a quarter of the lower floor, and when I bought a magazine the other day, the Nook salesperson asked me how I'd like to be able to get that magazine wirelessly. I told him I'd like that fine, but I'd like saving $300 even better, which is what I'd be doing if I don't buy the Nook, and that I also didn't see any wires coming out of the magazine I was buying.

I just saw on Amazon Canada that it is listed for release on Jan 1, 2011. Sigh. My pre-order from Chapters still says November 2 so I'm hoping it will be sent next week. The fact that Trek got a copy gives me hope....how are the actual ship layouts in the book?

The ... artwork is pretty underwhelming throughout the book though. I expected something better.

The book is a waste of money, sadly.

@Buck Rogers we've been discussing that and there are links posted and comments with publication dates all over this thread dude.

Why am I not surprised?

Not the book, your reaction.

Mine said the same, but i decided to get a physical copy instead.

Mine has not been delivered yet good old amazon keep putting the dates back hopefully it will come and it will make a great Xmas present.!!!!

@Buck...I wouldn't hold my breath when you go into the book store dude. This is one of the reasons why I pre-ordered my copy.

I'm not a "lover" or "hater" of this book. For whatever reason I'm apathetic about it, which is strange, because I love many of the older tech publications. I just don't care that it's being released.

The book seems okay... I'm not at all crazy about how they just recycled the typical "DrexFiles" style of orthos for the NX-01, and I hope that that's not the only style of art featured in the book, but even if, it'll be nice to see some meaty info on the 1701-B, C, and E.
