Quite similar to something I was starting to build, actually. Your engines are slightly more Trek than mine, and the body not quite as rounded or deep on the underside, but very similar. Great minds think alike, eh?

You should post what you've done so far!

I started that sketch in 2007. I went back and completed it last night, and scanned & posted it here.

LOL,erifah your Beetlepod design is good are you going to do orthographic or 3d version soon?

other than that a good concept, but how many credits per month would each starship captain have to pay or does the Starfleet lease over the five year mission?
Also who holds the insurance policy starFleet or the Federation just in case of the destruction of the Beetlepod ?
That's enough questions take your time in answering.

You FOOL. No one in their right mind would lease a spaceship. Can you imagine the charges for milage over the yearly lease limit, when you travel by the light-year?:wtf:

erifah,
I was making a humorous assumption I know that by the 22ND,23RD,24TH centuries the economic policies are different, and pursuit of wealth is replaced by the economics of exploration, and that cost is no factor on size, function of a starship and who crew her.
Also correct me is the unit of currency the credit so let us say the mileage is 100,000 Light Years based upon that you're traveling at warp therefore also stressing the spacefrane of which has 20 year structural warranty so over the five year mission should be 20,000 credits IMO.
Also I'm not a fool.

There's also a charge for any damage beyond normal wear & tear. I don't know about YOU, but I'm guilty, from time to time, of riding my starships hard and putting them away wet.

Its a great design. I really like it. However, I think you would get closer to the New Beatle look if you moved the nacells forward so that they appear beneath the body of the shuttle. Just like in the traditional Starfleet shuttle designs.
