Yes but Lantea is smaller than Earth, and the shield was only to deflect the solar ejection for up to several hours, after that the emitters can't maintain the shield size no matter how much power Atlantis has.

Well the shield should be able to protect North America for a few hours/days during an attack should it come to that.

Why North America? It is where the Gate is and where we build our weapons.

How do you know? I don't remember that being stated. And I though the shield wasn't able to help against the solar ejection, they had to line the Daedalus up perfectly. Unless you're talking about a different solar ejection.

Although if the shield couldn't do that it doesn't matter how large the planet is compared to Earth, now does it? I love making a point and then using it to discount another of my points.

They couldn't use Atlantis to shield Lantea because at that point they only had one ZPM, you need 3 to extend the shield over an entire planet.

Correct, in that episode, it was stated that the Ancients used the shield to protect the entire planet during the last solar flare. So it can certainly do it fully powered.

At any rate, Atlantis with drone weapons and the outpost with drone weapons = no fleet stands a chance, that alone is a huge advantage.

The only problem that I see is that the people of San Francisco might take notice to a giant stream of bright yellow drones flying up into the atmosphere from a naval quarantine zone.

The destruction of the Earth imminent, I don't think they'll be worried about what people see at that point. Would be a great time to reveal the gate to the public.

It would. Hopefully the next SG film (hopefully Extinction) will devote a significant part to full disclosure.

It was meant to be an Atlantis film, but since Atlantis is on Earth and the Lucian Alliance are on their way it could be just a Stargate film rather than a specific spinoff.
