ENTER: SF & F Avatar Contest - Minor Characters, Major Impact

Thanks for all the votes in the last round, folks! I've never won two in a row before -- it's kind of neat. However, I really hope someone else takes the prize this time around.

It has been said that there are no small parts, only small actors, and in sci-fi/fantasy, this is so often true. Therefore, the theme of this week's contest is popular minor characters... characters that were in the story for only a brief amount of time but nonetheless attracted a fair amount of attention from fans.

I'm going to try to be flexible with the rules on this one: for instance, with regard to a TV series, I'm open to including memorable guest stars or recurring characters who don't show up that often. Regular background characters are all right too.

Usual avatar rules apply. I probably won't put up the contest until Sunday night, so you'll have plenty of time to get your entries in.
