If you click on this link, it'll take you to the Shattered Light page in the Gallery Books catalog, which has the final cover for the book. This should give you an idea of what to expect in this fine tome.

Yes, the book's real and on schedule. It took a while, but it'll be out just in time for Festivus!

Not as good as the other two covers, I think, but still in theme. I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for posting a link for the new cover for Myriad Universe. Definitely plan on getting this book.:techman:

Let's see, clockwise from center top, that's Data, Demora Sulu, Nils Baris, Lal, Hikaru Sulu, Koloth, and... an elderly, long-haired Soval?

And they're still using the uncorrected blurb from the first duology, referencing "six" new realities...

Hey, I tried to get to the rest of the catalog, but Shattered Light seems to be the only book listed in it! At least the only one that can be reached by following the links from that page. What gives?

I like it. I'm wondering if Soval being on the cover means we'll be getting more ENT/TOS crossover stuff?

Which is weird, as we approved a cover blurb a couple months ago-- long before we even saw a draft of the cover. I'm sure (I hope) it'll make its way on-line soon enough.

Well, inasmuch as "ENT" and "TOS" even mean anything out there in the myriad universes...

Christopher, I used the keywords "Shattered Light" to get directly to the book's page in the catalog. The link includes this in the address, which is why it looks like there's only one book in the entire catalog. (<--This link takes you to the Gallery catalog; MyrU:SL is on page 7.)

In the selection below the writing I assume that is not a cover for Worlds of Deep Space 9: Volume 3...hehe :)

Well, The Tears of Eridanus features the most-distant divergence point of any Myriad Universe tale.

Well, we do know some baisics. The Tears of Eridanus by Steve Mollman and Michael Schuster takes place in a universe where Earth has been part of an interstellar alliance for hundreds of years, and focuses on Sulu looking into an attack on a scientifc outpost that might have killed Demora. Honor in the Night by Scott Pearson follows Nilz Barris in a universe where the events of The Trouble with Tribbles played out differently. The last story, The Embrace of Cold Architects is about what happens when Data is able to procreate. That's really all that's been revealed about the stories so far.

Looks good. :) Any hints on plot?

The link describes the three parallels:

1. The plan at the beginning of Best of Both World succeeds and Captain Picard is killed. I wonder if this is the same timeline we saw in Parallels?

2. Apparently it is a Federation without Vulcan. Vulcans stayed savage (No Surak I guess).

3. The Trouble with Tribbles goes horribly wrong.

I am really looking forward to this. I am a sucker for Alternate histories. If they released one of these every year I would be happy.

They must have put the blurb online only very recently, it wasn't there when the link was posted.

It’s been said that for any event, there are an infinite number of possible out*comes. Our choices determine which outcome will follow, and therefore all possibilities that could happen do happen across alternate realities. In these divergent realms, known history is bent, like white light through a shattered prism—broken into a boundless spectrum of what-might-have-beens. But in those myriad universes, what might have been . . . is what actually occurred.

THE EMBRACE OF COLD ARCHITECTS.
“Mister Worf—fire.” With thosewords, William T. Riker defeated the Borg—and destroyed Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Now, a heartsore Captain Riker must carry on the legacy of thecommanding officer and friend whose death he ordered. But crises face him at every turn, from Cardassian aggression to the return of Data’s creator, Noonien Soong. But it is Data’s creation of a daughter, Lal, that may prove to be everyone’s undoing. . . .

THE TEARS OF ERIDANUS.
Commander Hikaru Sulu of the Kumari—finest ship of the Interstellar Guard, the military arm of the Interstellar Union that includes Andor, Earth, and Tellar—is sent to rescue an observation team on a primitive desert planet. The world has many names—40 Eridani A-II, Minshara, T’Khasi, Vulcan—and its savage natives have taken the team hostage, including Sulu’s daughter, Demora. Even as Captain Sulu negotiates with the fierce T’Pau, Demora meets the elderly S’oval, and with him the only hope for the planet’s future. . . .

HONOR IN THE NIGHT.
Former Federation president Nilz Baris has died. After losing Sherman’s Planet to the Klingons thanks to poisoned quadrotriticale, the agriculture undersecretary parlayed that defeat into years of political battles with the Klingon Empire, and eventually the Federation’s highest office. Now, the Federation News Service wants the story of his life, a quest that digs up many secrets—including the mystery of why his final words were “Arne Darvin.”

^It wasn't there yesterday, when I looked...

Most intriguing. I can't decide which one I most look forward to. The mention of Lal does have me slightly concerned, since she was created before the Borg attack. Presumably, it has something to do with Soong, unless the PoD is actually much earlier than "Best of Both Worlds".
