Kind of forgot about this show... I hope this week is even better than the last two, though.

ZOMBIES!!!! I SEE DEAD PEOPLE!!! lol, about average, maybe slightly better than the previous eps, show is interesting but not really engaging past that

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Oh crap! They're zombies! Shoot 'em!

:p

Seriously, this show is keeping me hooked. I'm pretty at the point where I have to keep watching because if I don't, the mysteries will bother me forever. ;) Glad they got away from the extreme flashbacks of the pilot episode.

Oh yeah, I called two deaths in this episode, though they were both pretty obvious. The random cop (I mean, duh) and the turncoat as soon as he said he hadn't told them anything yet (double duh).

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Hm. Didn't someone say that these guys were going to tell us what the Event was by the third episode? I don't think I'll be continuing with this show.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Heather McComb. That's who the agent was. I thought I recognized her, but I couldn't place her. She's easy on the eyes. Van Der Beek lost a good one. Maybe Sean there should forget about his girlfriend and hook up with her. :rommie:

As for those people waking up at the end, yeah, I thought "zombies" too. I also thought... better run! I would have.

That's what's got me hooked. It may not have a really coherent narrative yet, but it keeps me watching on the same basis.

I also called that cop from the moment he pulled her over. You got to feel for the uniforms in every show; they always get the short end of the stick.

Being that it's the main mystery of the show, I don't expect them to tell us three episodes in.

Now if they do the whole Lost six seasons of misdirection to lead us to an ending that makes no sense or if they don't map it out logically to keep me interested, then I'll be pissed.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

The writers said we will learn a lot about the event by the 13th episode and a lot more in a season two premiere.

The airplane people are now "aliens" like the prisons. That's my guess.

Much better episode because no really lame flashbacks.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Above Average

The show is all plot and absolutely no character development so who knows how long it'll continue to be good. For now, I like it.

It does have some good writers/producers though: James Wong (X-Files, Millennium, Space: Above and Beyond), David H. Goodman (Fringe), Evan Katz (24).

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

I just don't like how NBC is promoting this show. It's so corny. Reminds me of how "Heroes" was promoted.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Fun eppy. Still kinda scattered but worth watching for Jason Ritter and Agent Cat Lady. Maybe the zombies are some kind of body-snatcher alien type scenario? (Or a similar scenario with just garden variety humans behind it.) Maybe that means they aren't time travellers or MU folks, and it would be nice to see them sidestepping the more obvious twists. ;)

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Didn't they drive a lot further away at the end of episode two? Episode three has them barely turning around before getting smashed by the RV.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Yeah, I think so. And the conversation in the car was shorter. I think Heroes did this where they'd do a scene at the end of one episode and repeat it in the next and it would be slightly different.

Yes. Shoddy editing.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

I seriously doubt it. Just one of those things where they hope people won't notice it or nobody bothered to watch the episode before.

Or a plot point.

If this show were Lost, it would either be a plot point or something meaningless we'd argue about for the next five years. :rommie:

I guess I should be happy that this show isn't quite that much work.

Re: The Event: "Protect Them From the Truth" - Oct. 4 - Grading/Discus

Did anyone else think it odd he didn't even try to look at the RV or see if anyone needed help? I mean maybe it's just me, but I see RV's and I think family trips. I guess that's not always the case, can be some drunken hillbilly going to tailgoat or whatever, but it almost seemed like it was a remote controlled RV since I didn't take notice to a driver or anything.
