Yeah, I remember being dragged along to see it with some friends at the theater and thinking it was going to be some boring historical drama (never read the book) and then I ended up loving it (and buying the DVD later) when it turned out to be a thrilling revenge story. I did try the book later but couldn't get through it.

The final duel is good as well.

It's my favourite of the trilogy by a long way - Van Cleef as the good guy, and it fits its length perfectly, whereas TGTBATU is a tad overlong.
