SWeet jesus Ethan got thin.

Guy Gardener

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
I'm talking about side to side, but up tops a surprise too. (Up and down too - Was Voyager a cast of midgets?)

Ethan Phillips is on this evening's episode of The Good Guys.

The episode just started.

Shhhhhhh.

oH!

And Bob form Hope and Fear is in there too, who still looks almost exactly the same as he did on twin peaks (He used to work along side the female lead here back during his Reaper days.).

According to the IMDB.com, without heels....

Lein is 5'3"

Mulgrew is 5'5",

Dawson is 5'5"

Phillips is 5'6",

Ryan is 5'8", which explains why Janeway in heels could stand and into Seven's eyes when she was being deborgified in sickbay. Once the Doc "dressed her" in the silver lamme suit, he also gave her heels which reasserted the natural height difference between the two actresses.

Picardo is 5'10"

Wang is 5'11"

Beltan is 6'

Russ is 6"

Mcneil is 6'1"

Recurring characters... Manu Intiraymi (Icheb) was 5'11", John deLancie 6'4" and Suzie Plakson (Miss Q) 6'1 1/2", which as she said last year in NJ, explains why she isn't cast against Tom Cruise (5'7")

IIRC, the average height of American females is 5'4" and males 5'9".

Darwin would say that that is because tall girls get laid less.

but tallness from the pappy is carried on to either gender in the progeny.

Weird.

It was just shocking to see Ethan all the way down their at least a head and a half shorter than Collin Hanks (Who I still think looks like a teenager)

But honestly, he has lost a lot of weight.

The missus probably put him on a diet.

Nothing but green beans.

I hate it when they do that.

but I'm of course comparing him to his Voyager days which was a long long time ago.

Damn! Even little Jennifer Lien is taller than me.

Beltran is the perfect height, though an inch shorter than Hubby.

I originally mis-read it as being Lenin, and wondered what he was doing on the show. :cardie:

Sean

The difference is largely hormonal. A general rule of thumb used to estimate the future height of children is to average the height of the father minus five inches with that of the mother for girls, and the height of the mother plus five inches with that of the father for boys. Sometimes, of course, malnutrition, toxins, or odd epigenetic expression (or unusual recombination of genes) can cause a child to be taller or shorter than expected.

I'm 5'8" and my sister is 5'2". I wonder why ...

Nope, you're old if you remember thinking "Where the hell did this Pete guy show up halfway through the run."

Old or just observant.

Gee, I’m 5’ 1” (female). My sister is likely just under 5’ and my brother about 5’ 7”. Mom is 5’ 3”. Dad was 5’ 6” but his brother was 6’ 1”. Their mother was 4” 10” and their father was 5’ 0”. Their maternal grandfather was supposedly 6’ 3”.

Height was definitely skipping a generation: I have two nephews who have reached their full growth. Both my brother’s and sister’s oldest boys are about 5’ 9 or 10”.

SUCKS to be short! Can’t reach squat. Which is why I married someone a full foot taller than me. He can reach everything on the high shelves for me.

I had a conversation similar to this with a store clerk once, and my final question to her before she walked away in a snit was "How tall was the milkman?"

If you were born in the 70s, it's a miracle if your parents are who they say they are, who they think they are, because of how all the dull people thought key parties would be unusual and would make them cool, so they sent out mass invitations to all their friends and co-workers.

Voyager should've won some effects award for making 6" tall Tim Russ look about as tall as Robert Beltran! ;)

:guffaw:

True, Pete did just kinda like drop out of the sky on that show. Wasn't it like a bunch eps or so later, we found out what his job title was?

That's probably due to posture. I've noticed that Russ carries himself very well.

^ Yes, he does; he always looks super.

I love this . She's funny. Thanks for that bit of interesting research.
