Who's in charge now? Young,Telford or Rush.
I found the whole TJ plot boring as hell, How the hell is she even walking around ? she would have had to give birth or had the dead baby removed, plus getting shot should mean she is in no fit state to move.:wtf:

The bleeding stopped all of a sudden  SERIOUSLY, that was awful writing to get yourself out of a corner.
From the perspective of "Intervention," the bleeding simply stopped. From the perspective of events over the course of the season, it will make much more sense. (Which has already been flat-out stated in this thread, but I'm choosing not to mention spoilers for future episodes.)

The way they got rid of the baby was just hilarious... it almost would have been better if it actually died. I guess I'm glad that they went back to that planet, but I don't think anything is really gained by introducing yet another vague alien species. Unless they're the Furlings or whatever those things were called.

Question was whether that was TJ's subconscious trying to deal with the situation.

Scott's solution to the radiation flare was awesome
Actually, it's common sense. The radiation surge hits the dorsal part of the ship, so moving to the ventral side puts the shield and the ship's hull between you and the radiation.

I'd be fine with Rush or Telford. Rush is actually competent and can stay cool under pressure and Telford seems to be a pretty decent guy now that he's not brainwashed.

I totally agree about the whole TJ thing. It's just sloppy writing so they could do that reveal of the nebula to throw some ambiguity on the whole dream thing.

Yeah, I thought about that, but doesn't the ending heavily imply that there were actual aliens involved? With Stargate, the easiest solution seems to be the right one.

Hmmm - I was a bit disappointed. Not as good as the two-parter finale. The resolution fell a bit flat.

So 7 chevrons for me.

But I'm optimistic about season 2.

As for some details of the episode...
- The Chloe healing thing definitely will be followed up on. My initial gut reaction was that it was an alien impersonating Chloe. But it may be something else. It may be ties into the tech guy disappearing in the 'chair'. Something is very funky on Destiny. (in a good way)
- I liked that they left the baby situation ambiguous. I suspect that this will be revisited in a future season.

if there is a future season...just sayin

I thought it was pretty good. Not perfect, but I'll take it. I'm not sure just what some posters want, as perfection just ain't gonna happen. And now, with Syfy turning into the 'Vince McMahon Network', and all the "ghost" crap, I'll cling to the FEW decent shows they Do have.

Overall I thought it was okay for the most part. My gripe is going for the Voyager vibe now with the SGC personnel and the Lucian Alliance group on the same ship (which was done to give another 'ramp up' to the tension, as the same 'military vs civillian' subplot had played itself out over the first season.

Now, they have actual 'bad guy' foil characters they can use to bring us the same old tired Star Gate subplots as before in previous series without making the SGC look like morons each week because they couldn't see/ferret out the 'moles' in the SGC, etc.

That's (imo) too bad, because one of the things I liked about the show was that they were showing that we could be a-holes all on our own, without an alien of the week to rage against. I have a feeling this show will devolve into another SG-1 clone, with a big overarching enemy that threatens the galaxy again (yawn); and I'll stop watching.

i deal with a-holes at home and work, i know a-holes, but dealing with a whole ship worth week after week gets tiresome, i will say the good parts of this ep were that "GOOD", but the baby stuff and the music montages and stuff was kinda meh... i give it a 6

Re: SG-U - Intervention - (2x01) - (Discuss

It would have been better without the stupid TJ sub-plot, if they want to be a serious show then don't come up with a way to not really kill her baby.

Or perhaps she is dead. Stargate aliens like to pass their selfs off as God. So they gave TJ the vision of her child surviving in heaven, the Faith planet and stopped Destiny sho she can serve as an apostle down the line.

Chloe on the other hand may be infected by the catfish and their parasite/symbiote like most of them in SF will refuse to let its host die prematurely

I figured the aliens where experimenting on Chloe and Rush, maybe this is a side effect of whatever they did to Chloe. Maybe they messed with her DNA trying to make some sort of hybrid they could use to control the Destiny.

They might just be pissed off at it on principle. Here's this giant-ass ship flying through your space, dropping big metal donuts on your planets, and it's invulnerable to your weapons. They might just want to find out what it's deal is. Or blow it up before it does something harmful.

Loved it. Last season's finale wasn't the best, so I wasn't looking forward to the premiere all that much, but they really delivered. I especially loved the whole bit with TJ and the baby. Didn't think we'd see those people from the planet again. And people say there's not much scifi on SGU. The song & montage at the end didn't bother me. It was appropriate and this one was especially well done. I was also worried that Robert Knepper would feel too "retconned in", but his integration into the show worked. They eased him in unobtrusively. It didn't feel like he was shoehorned in suddenly.

Annoying bit: Chloe's back in bed with Scott. Poor Eli once again.

Don't forget Eli's new love interest.
He's got a new love interest? Must have missed that bit.

I like how they're bringing back Nutter Cain(e) for metaphysical bullshit. Awesome.
That was some good stuff. I loved it.

Go LA tech chick, she is pretty hot also.
Yeah, she was.

You are right though, I remember the good ole days when running commentary for Stargate was a happenin thing, lots of people followed the episode as it aired. It has gone to nothing now :( No more "SCIFI Friday Nights"
Same thing is happening with Caprica in the BSG forum.

Surprised they killed off the leader of the Lucians.
Rhona Mitra was good. I'll miss her.

...is Lou Diamond Phillips part of the regular cast now, or is he still a recurring cast member?
He's still a guest.

I'm guessing that Chloe is dead, just as the baby died. Also guessing that we'll see her body where Eli left it. Very BSG. But, we'll see.
Interesting. I didn't think much about her situation beyond her leg wound looking too good for someone who was just shot.

Actually, if you watched the season 2 trailers, Chloe is going to turn into a Blue Fish Alien or something.
Even more interesting. Guess they are following up on that thing from last season.

she would have had to give birth or had the dead baby removed, plus getting shot should mean she is in no fit state to move.:wtf:
I found it funny that she had to have a baby removed, yet had her shirt and pants on and looked pretty fresh.

Question was whether that was TJ's subconscious trying to deal with the situation.
That's a possibility. After seeing the episode though, I was leaning toward them revisiting this issue. It felt like something that is or needs to be revisited even if doing so will ruin the ambiguity.

I like your grading options. They're much more interesting than the standard that we always tend to use for other grading threads.

Thanks, I used it last season, trying to show a progression of non existence (can't establish lock) to actually moving beyond the universe itself just like the Ancients did when they ascended, moving from no flight, to flight, to space exploration past our own solar system, to other galaxies, and then to the Universe as an analogy to SGU, then to Ascension, following the path of the Ancients.
I liked it when the poll started at "9 Chevrons" and ended with 0 for "no lock" even if it was a bit confusing and took some getting used to.

I give this episode an 8.

I thought it was a great episode. I loved the reveal of the nebula at the end. Is the baby on the planet? Did it ascend?
