Forgot to mention, I was one of the five who voted 'Good' - I enjoyed it enough, but it certainly wasn't excellent. It was great seeing Jon again, but I wish his scene had been a bit longer.

Ditto for Chloe. The Helmet was on and off before we knew it, and I'm guessing, that's the last we'll see of Ally until sometime after the first of the year.

:)

Sorry I wasn't here guys, as I said a buddy came over so my ability to post was hampered somewhat and I paused it for a bit to explain some things going on in the show (he's not a regular viewer) and, well, I got off time.

Anyway, I voted "Red-Blue Blur"/Good.

Had some really nice elements in it and I think this season shows promise, though I think with Mack gone (couldn't she do one more darn season?!) things will be... lonely. :(

Durance looked good in her wife-beater on the post, Clone-Lex looked like a cross between an Observer and Hellraiser, I hope any future Clone-Lex (CLex) is... more appealing.

But, overall, I liked it. Loved the scene with Bo brought back (Clark's "true" father figure) was nice and well done and I loved the suit encased int he crystal. Now if he'd just put the damn thing on.

When CLex was telling Clark that he couldn't save both Lois and stop the falling globe I turned to my buddy and said, "Um, actualy he can!" And, sure enough, he does!

:techman:

Good episode, looks to be a promising season and I'll see you guys here next week!

Well, it was good that you were able to post, Trekker4747.

It's funny that Jor-El says that Clark has a problem with pride. Clark has everything but pride. He's a self-doubting douche who blames himself to stuff he doesn't have any control of.

Yeah, got to keep in mind that they dont want to shoot their entire load on us in the first episode. But I like the idea of clone lex's. With his memories. I dont really care if some think its a cheap way to have Lex. So Im hoping something will happen with the Clone KidLex that Titssmacker saved and took home. He'll probably age fast.

Yeah, Clark has shown everything but Pride!

I'm still scratching my head on why Clark has his knickers all in a twist on being "driven to kill." Is this an attempt at a retcon?

Because, he "caused deaths" for many of his FOTWs in the first couple of seasons. Now, granted, he didn't directly kill these people but he certainly caused their deaths or performed actions that lead to death. I suppose it's growth that he tries to prevent death now but, still, he's hardly a Saint in this area. It's also really one of those things where Clark has to ask himself "Would the world really be worse without Lex Luthor?"

But I just loved Observer Lex underestimating Clark's ability to both save Lois and stop the falling globe (awesome scene and "full reveal" of Superman/The Blur - BTW). We've seen Clark run from Kansas to somewhere in South America in a matter of seconds, in another scene inside of an instant: he ran to Maine, got Lana a bottle of Maple Syrup, -presumably- paid for it, ran back and handed it over. He did this in a blink of an eye! And here Hellraiser Lex is telling Clark he can't both save Lois and run downtown to stop a falling sphere inside of the few seconds it'd take for the globe to fall.

"Miss Mercer, you're trying to seduce me."

He'll probably "Spock age" like in TSFS. He'll hyper-age to that of an adult and stop growing up.

Jury is still out on whether or not Tess will have to help him out during those turbulent, angsty, sex-craving teen years.

Erica Durance is second in the credits and Allison Mack is fifth. Sad, sad day...

Actually, Mack's credit was "and Allison Mack" - being at the end of the credits with an "and" or "with" is actually considered more prestigious than being second in the lineup (ala Michael Shanks and Beau Bridges in the last few seasons of Stargate SG1).

I liked Lexsferatu although I question why he would be bald since Real Lex isn't naturally bald but rather as a result of meteor trauma.

Now with the final season at hand, they seem to actually be getting close to rewarding all of us who've waited oh so long.

Tonight we finally saw the real deal. It was still boxed, but we saw it twice. Lois -- who finally put two-and-two together and knows Clark is the blur, saw him heal from the stab wound, blah blah -- saw the suit, and later Clark went to put it on -- before Jor'el snatched him and the suit away to the fortress. The suit is now encased in ice there, but it was shown in it's glory. They seem to have taken the "Superman Returns" suit and re-did it to the appropriate bright red color instead of the awful dried-blood maroon.

Back when the show began, one of the contract stipulations Welling had was "no tights, no flights" and it became a mantra of the shows creators/producers. It's 10 years later though, the show has new producers, including Welling himself, and I think since we've now truly seen the suit and Clark semi-flew tonight, maybe he's warmed up to the idea.

I tell you, if they don't give us 30 seconds of him in the damn thing at the series finale, the fan-fare playing, as he leaps off the Daily Planet and flies away, I'll go ape-shit. I've waited 10 years. I want that 30 seconds.

Don't you know nothing about accelerated ageing?

To get to where he was, almost his 50s after such a short gestation and growth cycle, it's more than obvious that lex would have been drowning in hair gowning a foot or more hair every day as his follicle length progressed days equalling months like the rest of his body.

Be careful what you wish for no?

Whoever was in charge would have had no choice but to cauterize the hairier parts of the clones body for his own health and safety.

(Now, think about their fingernails striving forth 9 feet every day winding around furniture and ornaments like some creep ivy vines with notions of a bondage fetish that "he" might have wound (and wound and wound and wound) up like a crustacean buried alive inside a weaved shell of plated fingernails, if that lex Luthor slept in one morning.)

Okay. So my predictions came out a bit wrong. I picked the wrong father for his out of body experience for one. Who would pull out the dagger for another. I do believe it was wrong for it to be Lois, because now she knows without a doubt. I thought for sure they would have set it up for her to strongly suspect but have no proof after the kiss in last season's finale. Which would have set up the old Silver Age status quo for her.

I did like the Lex clones. But where they really hit it out of the park was the scene with John Schneider as Jonathan Kent once more. He showed up a bit later in the episode than I had anticipated, but still did pretty much everything I thought he would in that appearance. He gave Clark a much needed pep talk and tried to absolve him of all his guilt. And he took the responsibility for his own death on his shoulders, where Clark had been blaming himself. So that part of it was so close to my prediction to call it right.

And I am so glad that the "Lana appearance" advertised amounted to no more than her picture on an old newspaper headline. Whew! Dodged a bullet there.

I liked Lexsferatu although I question why he would be bald since Real Lex isn't naturally bald but rather as a result of meteor trauma.

The meteor hit that caused his hair to fall out must have also altered his DNA. Easy. So that the cells used to clone him also carried that altered DNA. Once Lx15 ages to the age Lex was when he was hit, about the age of early-onset puberty, his hair will likely fall out too. Or maybe whoever did the cloning kept trying to perfect the cloning process and succeeded in restoring hair for him, the latest model. Does the kid have all of Lex's memories too? Now that is the real question.

I really think they should have used a Boom Tube rather than the creeping shadows to herald the arrival of Darkseid. Maybe they thought it might look like a tad redundant after using a gateway to get rid of the Kryptonians from Kandor though.

They seem to have taken the "Superman Returns" suit and re-did it to the appropriate bright red color instead of the awful dried-blood maroon.

That suit shown was 100% unaltered.

It's naturally brighter red but Singer put a filter when filming so that it was darker.

Smallville crew just used a prop since they needed something for the scene. The suit will get modifications behind the scenes even though in the show it's in ice.
