He's appearing again later in the season...and I assume Jonathon is who sent Clark back from limbo earlier in the season. The suit shown in the episode is indeed an unaltered prop from "Superman Returns" the last comment from Welling was that he had not seen the suit that he will be wearing and Peterson and Saunders at comic con said Tom would be fitted with a "version" of the suit shown in the episode but they talk too much and end up contradicting themselves so who the fuck knows.

Well, I hope they modify the suit. The suit as worn by Routh would be very awkward looking on Welling if it wasn't specifically tailored. Routh has a much narrower frame whereas Welling has a much broader frame.

You know, I was rather curious how the AI Jor-El in the Fortress could know what was said between Clark and the spirit of the dead Jor-El when he had the "near death experience." But I was talking with a friend of mine a few hours ago, and he had an interesting observation based on a single question.

Where did Zod get the blue-K dagger?

And the obvious answer would be at the Fortress. So if it was part of the Fortress, it stands to reason that the AI Jor-El was linked to it. Which is why he was able to maintain that state Clark was in, and contact, for as long as the dagger remained in his gut. Hence why it all snapped back the moment Lois pulled it out.

Now, when AI Jor-El lost contact with out-of-body Clark and the skies there changed? Quite possible that it was Jonathan, one disembodied father fighting the other for the sake of their son. So yes, I still think it is possible we may see him resurrected for episode 200. The odds are stacked against it, I can see. But who knows? It is still within the realm of possibility. And provides a good symmetry since he died in episode 100. It would really shake up a few things if he did. And he did say he would do anything to get a second chance this episode, didn't he? And hey, I am not afraid to be wrong. But who is it that would or could do this? Someone/thing that obviously acts with a balance, since it was what sent Lex's soul back too (which the kid likely got. Notice the knight in the fire? The kid is really evil too). So maybe whatever it is likes symmetry too.

But as to the coming darkness and Clark being a force for evil? With the appearance of Darkseid I am reminded of something that has happened in the comics and the animated series. Darkseid turned Superman and made him into his champion and sent him out to conquer in his name. In both stories he is able to eventually overcome the control and become himself again. Perhaps a similar fate is in store for Smallville's Clark? And Jor-El doubts his ability to overcome the domination? It seems to fit. We'll see though.

I think you may be onto something with this part. Who else but a god would you think could have power over life and death like that? Who else but Darkseid's nemesis would be starting to stack the deck to prepare the champion who would eventually defeat Darkseid? Could Highfather have the power to raise the dead? Maybe a limitation is that he has to do it in a balance. So that he had to also bring back someone as evil as the one he wants is good? Explaining why Lex came back now...

And wasn't it revealed that John Glover was coming back too? Maybe to resurrect Jonathan Kent, he has to also bring back his nemesis, Lionel Luthor? Ooooo... now you got me thinking...

The real Lex was never in the truck that exploded. That was already a clone of Lex. The real Lex has been hidden away in a glass tube deep under Luthor mansion since(pic your favorite spot in any season when Lex was knocked unconcious). This explains why all the clones have failed over the last two years. You cant clone a clone, you have to have the original source material. This also explains why these clones believe the creator is dead.

Jor-El already told Clark though he didn't send him back and sounded just as confused as Clark was. It is also not been explained why Jor-El is even talking to Clark again, he's just kind of reappeared over the episodes that we have heard him. Unless I missed something last season and this was explained?

If they ultimately can not get Rosenbaum then maybe there's a last minute change to have the young Lex grow up normally.

Even though Lex is raised by Tess, Lex still grows up power hungry.

Although Jimmy would be at least 15 years older than him

Maybe a little lex is the equivalent of little Damien? Maybe he'll knock Tess off a high ledge.

I think it's clear from the 2013 dream that Clark had in "Salvation" that Lex returns somehow and little Alexander confirmed about the clones being defective to Tess. I believe that we will see over the course of the season Alexander grow up and the next time we see him it will be as Luthor. This is just all a set up so they can use the character with or without Michael.

To the poster a few posts above. Where are you getting that the real Lex is buried in a class tomb beneath Luthor mansion? That was never shown at all. It was confirmed that the Lex we saw in the truck manipulating events and recast with a stunt double was indeed the Michael Rossenbaum Lex that we last saw crumbling beneath the Fortress of Solitude. If that is just your own interpretation of events that's fine but don't suggest that is where he is in the context of the show because it was never shown to be so.

and you can't say she isn't loyal to lex... any reasonable copy.
