X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

In the comics he was made by Apocalypse, though that wasn't his intended origin (he was supposed to be a nigh-immortal mutant trapped in the form of a 10 year old boy, so that boy created Sinister as his "projection". it's why Sinister looks like something out of a kids nightmare).

In the 90s cartoon they simplified his origin by having him turn himself into a mutate without Apocalypse.
 
Or the Hellfire Club, or Nimrod/Bastion (well, maybe not as the prime antagonist). Dark Phoenix just wouldn't have been that interesting in the movies even if Singer stayed, since Jean and Scott were such underdeveloped characters in the movies that it would be hard to have them centre stage for movie 3. If they were going to shaft them the way they did they shouldn't have thought about Scott/Jean centered stories in the first place or just make Cyclops a better written character to stand up to Wolverine.

I mean, X-Men Evolution managed to give us one of the best versions of Cyclops EVER. It wouldn't have been hard to translate that to the films.
 
I think you should come up with your own X-Men trilogy...I know I'd read it. I enjoyed your alternate Voyager project. I'm sure you would come up with a really entertaining X-Men trilogy fan fic.
 
Well, it's got the Hellfire Club and they even cast January Jones for Emma Frost so they already got it right. ;)

I wonder if Gabrielle Hallar will in it as Xavier's love interest.

That has got to be one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. :lol:
 
It's true. The reason he was so obsessed with Cyclops is that Scott was sent to the Orphanage that Sinister ran (in his true form he was Scott's room-mate Nathan, as well as the Administrator). He was angry that he finally found another mutant and this one could grow up and be taken seriously. It's why he experimented on Scott and brainwashed him, so he could have a child with Sinister's choice (Jean Grey) and then Sinister could transfer his mind into their super-powered child.

This is why Sinister could come back whenever he was destroyed (it was just an empty shell they were destroying), why he named his team the "Nasty Boys" and why they all acted like teenage slobs.

It's the same with Gambit, originally he was also supposed to be an empty shell created by Sinister to infiltrate the X-Men and get closer to Rogue (Sinister was attracted to her but knew she'd never go for a little kid).

Something, eh?
 
Actually, the third Summers brother was up in the air. Some writers wanted Apocalypse to be the 3rd, Adam X-Treme was supposed to be Wolverine's illegitimate son, Gambit was supposed to be the 3rd, Cable wasn't supposed to be Nathan Summers, etc.

The whole "Sabretooth is Wolverine's Father" thing keeps coming up that now we're not sure just what their exact relationship is.

That's all because many in the Marvel bullpin hated that idea got out and didn't want to continue that story but fans wouldn't let it go.
 
Gambit was rumored for a long time as the third Summer's brother and that of course was tossed out by the introduction of Gaberial Summers. In one of the early drafts for First Class there were reports of a love triangle between Xavier/Lensherr and Emma but that was never confirmed and probably tossed out.
 
^ Wow you are just super strict on comic continuity making it's way into the films even though it's already been established as a different continuity.
 
Well, originally they were planning on making the White Queen an old flame of Xavier's. Maybe they're just going for it again.

I wonder if they'll ever hint at Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as kids in the movie.
 
Not from what I've heard and read about the film. I know they appeared on a monitor while Lady Deathstrike was downloading information in "X2" but I seriously doubt we'll see Wanda and Pietro.
 
At least they are making Emma an older woman. I laughed when the comic character claimed she was 25 a few years back - yeah right - an electronics expert, CEO of a large corporation, and headmistress of school has time to fit all that in by 25...
 
Marvel's attempted to retcon and give Emma a definitive origin for years now...the most recent attempt was I think earlier this year in the last Uncanny X-Men annual giving her a prior history with both Namor and Tony Stark. I was at first disappointed that Alice Eve didn't work out, I think she would have been really good as a younger Emma Frost, but January Jones gives them more to work with.

Btw do we have an update on Rosamund Pike? Or was her involvement in the film just another rumor?
