I wish I could quit the Internets.

Heh, I must say that I often black out when I drive on well-known roads. I still drive perfectly, respecting limits and prudence, but my mind works on its own. In case I need it my mind snaps out in no time (I did manage to avoid collisions in a couple of instances), but it's always weird to find out I drove for 20 mins and I have no recollections of that.Shoot, I'm to the point now where I can meditate while driving (but I don't!).

Damn, I was going to start a “Who Here Masturbates?” parody thread, but you beat me to it. (No pun intended.)I used to meditate every day, sometimes two or three times a day. But my mom caught me doing it in the bathroom once and I haven't been able to do it since.![]()
My chakras haven't been active in years! Not only that, I keep forgetting my mantra.. . . .But here lately I have been having trouble focusing. I can do the relaxation and have no issue ordering my thoughts but I haven't been able to activate my chakras in over a month.
I don't meditate, no. I do listen to New Age music, but I don't get into the philosophy and meditation and all that stuff about 'chakras' (whatever the hell they are). The music just calms my nerves.
Lately I have been trying to practice a certain type of meditation called mindfulness. Although it has its roots in the Buddhist tradition it as increasingly been studied and used in modern cognitive psychotherapies. Unlike some meditations were you focus on something, mindfulness wants you to clear your mind of all thought and just be present with yourself in the moment. Any thought that enter your mind do not make judgments about them just observe them and let them go. Its goal is to help one become more involved in ones day-to-day life and more focused on what is important to you
Admiral Young you might want to take a look at it because there has been a lot of research into it as a tool to cope with chronic pain.
I used to meditate, but the constant tinnitus I have these days is a real spanner in the works.
Yeah, tried that. Doesn't work for me. Ah, well!
