In addition to the Mission Gamma novel I'm still working on, I'm now also reading All the President's Men and Shadow: Five Presidents and the Legacy of Watergate for one of my classes.

I just went over to the nearby used book store at lunch today and bought Star Trek: The New Voyages 2" from 1977 (I missed both of The New Voyage books when I was buying ST books in the '70s) and, based on recommendations I read here, "Prime Directive" from 1990.
Unlike (I assume) most of you, I never went past TOS and the TOS movies - well, until the Star Trek 2009 movie came out, of course. So my personal ST world exists in the 1970s and it's fun to buy a "new" book from the pre-movie era and slip back in time for a while.
I'll be on the lookout for "The New Voyages" before I get into TNV2 but I think I'll start Prime Directive tonight. I hope it lives up to its reputation at this forum.
This and another nearby used book stores have so many old ST books that I think I'll be able to keep myself cheaply entertained for a long time to come.

Wow, that's the second time that's happened
The sad thing is The Lost Years, each of it's follow ups, and the series as a whole had so much promise, but I felt that they failed to live up to on every count. To me Recovery was the best of the bunch.
In defence of the series, there were a number of editorial intrusions at the time which (perhaps) kept the series from being what it could've been...
I don't know, but there might be some weird sort of resurgence for The Lost Years at the moment--I saw someone on the bus reading a Star Trek novel yesterday (for the first time in quite a while), and this was their novel of choice. Reading people talking about it at the same time here makes for an odd coincidence around a 20-year-old title...
I just finished reading "Star Trek" by Alan Dean Foster....with regards to "Without America" I'm waiting for it from the library and highly anticipating it. I loved the first book.
In the mood to read a ST novel... not sure what though.
I just received a nice, second-hand copy of David Mack's Reap the Whirlwind (Vanguard #3). I started reading it tonight and it's really got some intriguing stuff about the Tholians that I'm enjoying.
I'm a bit behind with my reviews as I was busy with a new article for Unreality SF, but since my draft for the article is with the editor right now I hope I can motivate my lazy ass to finally write them.
Have finally finished the Spider-Man review at least, just in case anyone (Christopher perhaps) is interested, you can find it here.
About finished with TOS "Mutiny on the Enterprise." Then I'm gonna start up "Map of Bones" by James Rollins. Love his stuff.

I recommend all of the above. Yeah, the quality varies (particularly in the case of Genesis Wave part three, which I felt was a letdown after the excellence of the first two), but all of your choices are good ones.
Also, in case you didn't know, The Genesis Wave series is actually four books. The last one is called Genesis Force.
Either tonight or tomorrow, I'm going to be starting to re-read all of the books leading up to Destiny and all of the stuff after starting with the last three A Time to... books. When I first decided to do this I was hoping to be done by the time Zero Sum Game comes out, but that isn't too likely at this point.
