Going to Vegas Nov 18!

Anybody going to be there? It'd be neat to meet up.

We got an invite to the Encore at a truly excellent price ($299 for three nights plus 2 tix to Le Reve). It's a 5-6 hour drive from here, but we want a car when we're there.

Hubby looked at the website's pics of the room--he's not sure he'll leave it much after all! But he does want to go to Bellagio, and the Carnegie Deli at the Mirage.

It's the weekend Bar results come in--that Friday night, when we're seeing Le Reve. We figure we'll check them on Saturday, just in case of bad news.

We were just in Vegas seeing Rush at the MGM Grand.

Have a great time!

Awesome! We were just there! Live it up, and make sure to go out and have fun no matter what the results are. :)

If you go to Bellagio, there is a great restaurant called Olives. Great food. Try to get a table by the fountains.

Have Fun!!! I was over there...in 2002 when they were comemorating the 25th annisversary of Elvis' death. Yes, he was all over the place.

One of Mom's highlights of our visit in Vegas was someone mooning her one night.

There was this really interesting show about them on tv recently. I only have their 2112 album (I had the album long before I bought the cd). And I've only listened to side A, but that's really a great story being told.

There was this really interesting show about them on tv recently.

If I had to guess, it was the recently released documentary, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage. Produced by the same guys who made Iron Maiden: Flight 666, it had a very limited theatrical release in June and then hit DVD. It's been shown on VH1 rather frequently as of late, too.

Have fun! You can't go wrong at Wynn. Tons of great restaurants. I've had a few business lunches at the Country Club Grill recently and they've been great.

That's what I was thinking too. A great film, especially if you're a Rush nut. Lots of great old footage and performances.

And the drunken dinner scene is good for big laughs.

Anyway, when we were in Vegas last we also saw The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. That was well worth the money.

We did CSI: The Experience, which was not.

The Cirque Du Soleil shows there are awesome, especially Ka.

We were in Vegas in the spring, staying at Treasure Island. We saw Mystere, O, and The Lion King. We "gambled" a whole $5, but for a friend who's a Giants fan--putting on the Giants to win the World Series.

I've been fortunate enough to see Phantom twice, once in London a few months after it opened, and again in LA after it first opened there. Thanks for the warning on CSI.

The RUSH show I saw was the other one, about 2112 and another album by them--since that's the album I really like. The only real surprise to me was that the "We have assumed control" line was supposed to be the good guys winning. I thought it was the good guys--but that they were proving themselves to be just as controlling as the priests. I guess not--happy ending all around.

My wife and I go to Las Vegas frequently. We don't really gamble either. It's all about the food, the booze, and the shows. If you get a chance, seriously, see Ka. We have seen many shows (both resident and touring) and Ka is the best.

Also, there is a very cool (but very expensive) seafood place at The Venetian called Aquaknox. Delicious and a groovy, water-like atmosphere.

And yes, "We Have Assumed Control" is the Elder Race returning.

We had vouchers to see either Phantom or Blue Man Group. I wanted to see Phantom, husband wanted to see Blue Man Group. We ended up seeing Blue Man Group, second row, poncho section. I definitely ended up with paint on me. :klingon:

We're eating less, so we figure between the Carnegie Deli (Hubby's choice) and brunches, we really won't be eating a huge amount. But I'm insisting we hit a Jean-Phillipe's--those desserts looked soooooo good. We weren't hungry when we passed the two in Vegas, so this time we're hitting it.

I understood it was the Elder Race returning--I just thought that they were going to be as controlling. Not that they were really going to be good guys. GREAT music. I would love a movie of it.
