My name's James Heaney. I run a small fan production audio drama called Star Trek: Excelsior, and we have a problem only you can solve.
The artwork for our episodes is boring. We are looking for someone with art skills who can make episode artwork that isn't boring.
Every time a new episode comes out, we attach some album artwork to it. The problem is, we only have one image, and we just keep changing the text on it because nobody on staff anymore has art skills. The image looks something like this:
Now, this was a pretty cool image when it was 2008 and we only had two episodes. Now it's 2010, and we have more than a dozen... all with the same image, repeating over and over again until everyone's sick of looking at it.
Meanwhile, over at Star Trek: Defiant and Star Trek: Outpost (both are excellent shows, by the way), they've done something very appealing: every episode they release has its own unique artwork, which they can post on their site, on Facebook, on iTunes... all over the place.
We would really like for Excelsor to start releasing new art with every episode. It'd just be a really neat thing. But nobody on the Excelsior team knows their way around any major graphics programs. I can use Paint like a warrior, but that's about it.
So that's where you come in, dear TrekBBS Art forumgoer. We are looking for someone who can make a square image (approx. 200x200 px) for each of our new episodes, which are released approximately once every seven weeks. Of course, as a fan production, we can't offer you any compensation beyond an art credit in the podcast. But if you want a steady venue where your Star Trek work will be regularly published and seen by a few thousand people, or if you just think it'd be kind of a cool thing to make episode art for an audio drama, this is an opportunity for you.
