Yeah, be careful. 'Tis dangerous business, going through discussion boards of shows that ended eleven years prior and hoping not to be spoiled!

Hey Wissa, welcome to TrekBBS.... now you found my little ST hidey-Hole.

And yeah, in all the series sections in here, you may want to tip toe over a few threads.... detailed information does pop up from time to time.

But even if something comes along you read that spoils something, I'm sure you'll still enjoy watching it through with your own eyes ;)

A few years ago I was watching BSG for the first time on DVD, and as I was new to the site I decided to check out the BSG forum. The first thread I saw was titled "Roslin's Cylon Wardrobe", and I thought this was a spoiler that Roslin was a Cylon, so I cursed myself and backed out of the forum. Weeks later, having caught up on the DVDs (Roslin having not been revealed as a Cylon), I opened that thread to find out what it was about, and it turns out they were just talking about the new clothes she wore in season 3 and speculated she stole them from the Cylons. Gods, did I feel dumb. :alienblush:

The moral of the story is that you may think you read a spoiler in one of the threads here, but it might just have been harmless speculation. ;)

Cool story, bro.

Reminds me of an advertisement for a fourth-season episode of that show that aired in America. Number Three asks Roslin if she knows she's a Cylon, it cuts to Roslin's stunned face, and that's the end of the teaser.

The moral of my story is, never trust anyone!

^ Then again, the teaser for S4 episode 'The Ties that Bind' did really spoil the ending of that episode, as far as I remember... People were saying that they were probably just misleading people, because they couldn't reveal something like that in the teaser. But they did!

Later, the teaser for 'Sine Qua Non' seemed to suggest that
Caprica Six was pregnant
, but I was one of the people who was sure that it was just misleading, because they couldn't possibly write such a stupid plot point. But they did! :(

Actually, before I had the opportunity to watch DS9, it interested me so much that I read through all the episode summaries on Memory Alpha.

And then when I did get the chance to pretty much see it start to finish, I still loved it! I'm even trying to watch it again.

Things were easier for me, for I was essentially introduced to Trek via VOY reruns. After I'd seen every VOY episode at least once or twice, I then got into DS9, then TNG. I bet more people would like VOY if they, like me, watched it before being spoiled by DS9 and TNG. ;)

While DS9 was running, someone sent me an email saying "Alexander is dead!". He had Sky and saw all the current eps. Needless to say I had to throw food at him the next time I saw him for being a lying bastard.

I remember watching that scene thinking "Ah, here we go, this is where they'll reveal that Roslin's a Cylon", then Three started laughing and told Roslin she wasn't a Cylon, to which I thought "No, she is a Cylon, stop dragging this out!" Then I watched Revelations (which was the latest episode at that time), Roslin still hadn't been revealed as a Cylon, and that's when I went back to the BSG forum to find out what was going on in that thread.

Excellent advice. :techman:

I feel for you. I knew nothing about DS9 when I went out and bought all 7 seasons on DVD (definitely living on faith ;)). I might've been miffed to find out things before they were unveiled as I watched.

BUT, DS9 gets even better once you know the whole story and revisit it again. I'm currently on my fourth run-through of DS9, and I like it all more than ever.

That's hilarious...

That's so true! Hopefully you enjoy Deep Space 9. I find when I've read spoilers in the past, unless they were long, drawn out details about this or that, it was just as fun and interesting to learn about them when I watched it. Knowing beforehand didn't take away from it for me personally. I hope that that's the same way for you. :)

it's hard to avoid because I've picked up all the major stuff over the years just by osmossis or watching the occasional episode. Like I knew Jadzia died but a title here told me how  At the moment I'm anxiously anticipating that event almost every episode.

hi prax!

Actually, that title only gives away about half of it, there's still some surprises in that scene that you probably don't know about. :)

Maybe we should put **SPOILER ALERT!!!** at the end of every thread title. I would be willing to bet wissaboo isn't the only person in the world who hasn't seen DS9 before.
