Only a PC at home so those specs will have to do for now.
Hey I have to ask how does the Borg bridge officer work, do you get to pick the officer's race or is it preset?
YOu can mostly solo the game, true. But the most fun is to be had in a team of 2-5 players. Try it out, you'll see.Got in a few levels this weekend, halfway to Commander. Fleet Actions are a lot of fun, but it does seem like a real 'solo' type of game.

i believe you can choose between klingon and human. but i dont have it myself so i can be wrong.
Besides Fleet Actions, what group content is there to do?
See, STO is more like a single player game where you can meet up with others online. It's an MMO, but not really an MMO in the traditional sense.

I don't know, what you've described there is also how most people play most MMORPGs until endgame. And for that matter, how half of 'em play endgame.
Most people don't group through their leveling in WoW, either; it causes you to miss a lot of storyline. They solo level, and group for instances, heroics, and raids.
STO is the same; there's just not much endgame raiding yet other than 5-man equivalents of Heroics. Yet.

I think you can get it if you pay for a yearly subscription to Star Trek Online.

True, but it's a zillion times more fun playing with others. Which is why I stopped playing, since I couldn't convince anyone else to play it!
Very few people are members anymore. It's a shame really. Hopefully they'll pick up in population.
Actually it's started picking up again. I see twice as many people in zones now as I did before Season 2.
Edit: yes, I mean in zones, not in instances, I'm aware they've increased the instance size. In some zones I see MORE instances now, not less, despite the increasing instance sizes, because that many people have come back.
Does the type of captain you pick (tac, science, eng) impact your starting ship? Science = science vessel, etc?
