Enterprise is Trek as it should be!

A lot of people will disagree with you. I happened to like it though. Most tend to rate the 3rd and 4th seasons the strongest and the 2nd season the weakest. It's all largely subjective of course.

I am one of those that believes that barring a few good episodes here and there, the first two seasons were pretty plain. They weren't awful... just kinda boring.
3rd season is fantastic in its intensity, but I am glad that they finished the arc and moved on.
4th season (barring a couple of flatter eps) is the best, IMO. I felt like it finally hit its stride. Sadly Paramount & CBS did not agree.

I enjoyed the show from beginning to end (well, almost the end
). There are plenty of fine episodes in every season. Have fun and enjoy.

Enterprise replaced TOS as my favorite series (with DS9 a close third). I the cast was first rate and I liked the characters right off.
The production values were excellent and we got more good episodes than bad ones and even the weak stories had moments that were pure gold.

"The Forge" was on HRT today... Too bad that so many people gave up on ENT before this. In this, and in the following two episodes, they could have seen ENT's final graduation into a thoroughbred Star Trek series.

I definitely agree that ENT has the best cast of all the Trek series. And I'm a ginormous TNG fan -- so that's saying a lot.
I agree. It had spirit and I loved it - it took me some time to learn to appreciate first two seasons but it's mostly to the fact that it's so different than VOY or TNG.
I could never compare series because I like them all, but still I put Enterprise on one side and everything else on the other. I just grew to like it, maybe because of the characters that were so well written that I could really understand them, Archer and Trip. And I liked how T'Pol was unusual Vulcan - messed up and somewhat troubled... And also I watched it for the first time when I was going through some hard things and it used to be the only thing that could make my day and put my mind out of it...

For me, ENT is my second favorite of the five series. DS9 is hands down my favorite. If ENT had gone more serialized like it does in seasons three and four, it very well may have toppled DS9 for me. But alas. However the final two seasons were more than enough for me to mark it as number two.
If you're liking the episodes so far, just wait until season four and you get into the Vulcan and Andorian Trilogies. Some of the best Trek ever right there.

I love ENT. Always have and always will. Except for TOS I think it had the best first two seasons of any Trek show. It had some weak spots but nowhere near as bad as TNG, DS9 and Voyager. TOS of course had the best first 2 seasons than the other Treks. I'll always stick with that position.
I appreciate Enterprise, but if I was going to list the various ST series by my personal ranks:
#1 - Deep Space Nine
#2 - The Next Generation
#3 - Voyager
#4 - Enterprise
#5 - The Original Series

For Enterprise, there's only the 4 seasons & some of the story lines are a tad shallow compared to the dept and amount of episodes one can delve into with the other series.

I liked the shapeshifting aliens, and some of the designs in the first episodes. Also enjoyed the good special effects.
The captain (Archer?) seemed a bit dull to begin with, but he has interesting caracters in the crew to play with, so it works even though he has a pretty plain personality.
The disco-aliens with the advanced holodeck were cool, specially when the cute one in the body-tight costume made one of the male crew-people pregnant.
One of the best moments so far is when the not-yet pregnant crewman is tripping while attempting to fix the war-drive at the alien ship because of all the lights and general wierdness.
So far Im at disc three, first episode (Its number five or six)
I think you'll like the show!

I liked it, too. Jeff Combs is always great and it was interesting seeing him on Enterprise.
