Green Lantern - Ryan Reynolds costume revealed!

Seriously are all you guys who are having a problem with the suit forgetting that when we actually do see the damned suit on screen it's going to be in 3D? They photoshopped it so we could get a first look at it. That wasn't the final look for the suit.

Seriously, do you have a fucking brain? [/scarcasm]

My problem isn't the fact that the suit is generated thanks to the wonderfully inept folks at EW, it's that the concept of the suit can easily go south if they go to far with the "musculature" concept and forget that it's still an exosuit, and thus actually has to fit Renoylds' physique, not simply ape it's motion like a marionette.

Unlike Avatar, which used the actor's faces and movements to build entirely articulate CG counterparts, GL still requires us to see his head and neck. If they forget that it's still a suit, and just replace his body, it's going to look terrible in motion.

Actually many people continuously tell me that I don't have a brain...and I do understand your problem with the suit but again I maintain that was done on purpose for the purposes of showing it for the first time. That when it is actually shown on the screen it will be different than what was shown in the magazine.

GREEN LANTERN 2

Michael Goldenberg Writing Green Lantern 2
Source: Variety
August 9, 2010

Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) to write the screenplay for Green Lantern 2. The first film is scheduled to hit 3D and 2D theaters on June 17, 2011.

Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim were previously hired to write a treatment for the sequel that would have Ryan Reynolds return as the DC Comics superhero who's part of the Green Lantern Corps.

Filming just wrapped in New Orleans, Louisiana on the Martin Campbell-directed movie, produced by Donald De Line.

Goldenberg's credits also include Where the Wild Things Are, Peter Pan and Contact.

Well, they're just starting script development for a sequel, nothing beyond that yet. And it's smart to start work on a sequel script now so that if the film is a hit and they want to move quickly on a sequel they can do so with a solid script in place.

What happened to the actual "Green Lantern Discussion Until Release" thread? This one seems to have taken over. Interesting choice. I'm sure that the original writers treatment is comprehensive enough for DC ENT to hire this guy.

Here's a link to the story on io9 which has another shot showing Tomar Re and Kilowog. You get a better look at the uniform. It has some of the muscle pattern seen in the EW shot of Reynolds, but it looks less pronounced to me.
