Year Two wasn't that bad. It was after all the inspiration for the far superior Mask of the Phantasm. That fact alone has earned Year Two a warm place in my little tiny heart.

I liked it (well, the story, not so much the MacFarlane art). And it's already kind of been filmed, since it influenced Mask of the Phantasm.
Jett at Batman-on-Film discovered the release dates for next year's releases from a Warners source:
22nd February - All-Star Superman
7th June - Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
27th September - Batman: Year One
That follows the usual pattern of release dates for the DTV line, except Green Lantern: Emerald Knights has obviously been scheduled for an early June release so that it's out during the publicity run-up to the feature film rather than the July release we usually see for the summer DTV.

I just now figured it out... the Batman anime anthology was subtitled Gotham Knight, and now this GL anthology is Emerald Knights. I guess they're going for a theme with the titles.
In a interview at Comic-Con Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett were asked about the possibility of an R-rated animated movie. Timm said Warner Home Video fluctuates between hot and cold on the idea. They were really warming up to it and then Watchmen underpeformed and they went cold again. Now they're warming up to it again. Burnett said they have two scripts, both adaptations of particular comic books, that would have to be R-rated.
They were also asked about the potential for animated movies based on Vertigo comics and they said it's something they've discussed and there's some chance of it.

I'd recommend skipping Crisis on Two Earths. It turns to shit by the thrid act.
^ Yes finally someone else who thought it was crap too. I hated Crisis on Two Earths, such a disappointment.
One of my biggest issues with Crisis on Two Earths is the fact that we've already seen this story done far better, both within the DCAU itself ("A Better World" is a much stronger story) and in Brave and the Bold, which I maintain is the best CSA story to date.
However, even more so than the timing of the release (IMO), the greatest flaw in Crisis is the writing/rewriting of the JL itself, especially in it's character dynamics to the CSA. To be fair, other than Johnny Quick and Owlman (especially given the fact that the latter is voiced by James Woods. Subtle.
), the members of the CSA are basically archetypes that any of the Justice League could best in their sleep. To be honest, there is really very little distinctive about the other CSA members' characterization from villians we've seen and read before. What few traits they do have in distinction both not only cements their dissimilarity to their JL counterparts in terms of origin (which undercuts the point a little), but (to me) only serves to prove that these guys could never have taken over Earth, especially given how Luthor and his Justice League were portrayed. Sure, they're obviously stronger and more "streetwise" than our JL, but except for Owlman, they're not that competent enough to best them.
In fact, considering that this was supposed to be a JL/U story, they would have already defeated every member of the CSA at least a half a dozen times. Also, the characterization of both teams suffer because the film no longer fits within the DCAU continuity, and thus lacks the real and implied backstory for the JL team to really flesh out the differences from their CSA counterparts. Sure, they did attempt this within the film itself, but in my eyes, most everyone comes off as flat.

Acronyms aside I wonder is the actual title of the movie will be All Star Superman. To a non-comic book reader that title really says nothing about the content.
hmmm well obviously I don't think so.... But I would be curious what others think.
Both of those examples are traditional titles. The "All Star" branding was part of a planned series of re-envisioned DC characters by top creators, hence "All Star". Though other titles have been announced the only other series to be released has been All Star Batman & Robin the Boy Wonder. DC seems to have abandoned the idea.... and its safe to say the critically and fan reviled ASB&R will never be adapted to animation!
I doubt they will totally retitle the story. That would lose fan identification with its source. But I could see a descriptive subtitle added.

I've enjoyed all of the DC animated movies and they're all worth watching at least once. New Frontier deals with the formation of the Justice League and spans the era from the Golden age to the Silver age. It's got all the cameos you could dream of. Crisis on Two Earths has your core Justice League going to an alternate earth to battle evil counterparts of themselves.
