Worst performance in a movie

Flavius

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I just watched Jason Robards as Brutus in Julius Caesar (1970). Right now, I can't remember anything remotely as earth-shattering bad as this.

Sofia Coppola in The Godfather Part III.

Denise Richards in The World Is Not Enough.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin.

Marisa Tomei in Oscar. This film is extremely clever, and it depends on the comic timing of the writing and all the actors. This girl nearly sinks the film. Sure, she is supposed to be overacting, because her character is trying hard to get out of the house, but Tomei overdoes it. Just a bit too far. How do I know? Because the other actors seem to forget how to play their characters only when they re on the screen with her.

Julie Benz in Boondock Saints 2. In a film loaded to the teeth with shit performances, hers was the one that made me shut it off

Hayden Christensen in the Prequels---gag, he was awful.

But there's also Marlon Brando in "Island of Dr. Moreau." That was just sad.

And Chris Tucker in, well, anything.

Their was a ensign in the background in start trek 5,even though she never spoke she managed to bug me.

Channing Tatum in "G.I. Joe". Forget that it's a big, dumb, summer blockbuster...even those deserve better leads than this. When he yells "Son of a bitch! SHE BURIED YOU", I don't know whether to laugh or facepalm at the pathetic excuse for conviction.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin.

Great choices - those are the first three that came to my mind. I know Denise in that movie was the first time just the way an actor read their lines made me want to laugh at how stiff and unnatural they sounded....and that's probably only because I didn't see "The Godfather III" until 2007 and I was too young when I saw "Batman and Robin" to realize how bad the acting was (although even at that age I knew something was terribly wrong with that movie, despite loving "Batman Forever").

I honestly don't think Schwarzenegger was that bad, more of the material he was given in combination with the director made it bad. It's hard for an actor to make that material worse when it can't get any lower to begin with.

I thought Schwarzenegger was fun, but Uma Thurman annoyed the hell out of me. I must be the only person who doesn't think she was sexy in that movie.

^^Seconded.

I'm not picking on Schwarzenegger. Whether I thought it was good acting or not, I've enjoyed his performance in every movie I've seen him in other than "Batman and Robin". In fact, he's one of my favourite actors, and I've seen him in tons of movies like, "The Terminator", "Conan the Barbarian", "Commando", "Predator", "Total Recall", "Terminator 2: Judgment Day", "True Lies", "Junior", and "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines". His acting pleased me in all of those. "Batman and Robin", however, just brought out the worst in him (and most of the cast), acting-wise. As a kid, I actually thought Uma Thurman was the only fun part of the movie. Now I hate everything about it, but she used to be the one bright spot. I never, ever liked Arnold in that movie.
