Well, it seems like fans in Cleavland care, every time he's at bat there is a mass migration to the bleachersThink you should clarify that as "media hysteria". Aside from MLB network and ESPN, not sure anyone cares about A-Rod and 600. Kinda sad, honestly, but true. If it was someone else, or probably more likely, a few years ago, this would be HUGE. Right now, other than it getting mentioned every time they show him on tv, no one seems to really care. Yankees aren't getting their money's worth out of those milestone bonuses that they thought would draw huge attention...

Only because the ball would be worth money...
If it was it wouldn't have been coupled with the flicker of camera's after every swing. At the very least, there was interest in Cleavland baseball fans. Well see if that same interest extends to Tampa tonight (I'm going to guess yes, since Tampa is a Yankees stronghold)
^ Would you give the ball back if you caught it and they asked? (substitute your favorite player for A-Rod if necessary) Or sell it on your own?
Speaking of Tampa, anyone catch the bat - as in, winged bat - flying around inside Tropicana Field?![]()

Kidding aside, that was a scary moment when the bat shard went flying into the stands and injured a spectator. MLB looks like they're waiting for someone to get killed before banning maple bats.

I didn't mean *that* bat. I meant a living, flying bat. The kind with wings. The kind that live in caves.![]()
Oh, by the way, you do know the Trop is in St. Petersburg don't you? Saying the game is in Tampa is like saying the Yankees play in Queens...
^ I meant the team.
So have the Rays made any progress in getting their new ballpark built?
What a finish in the Giants game today. Burrell with the clutch HR that I won't soon forget and I was listening on the radio and AT&T was absolutely jumping. Who honestly would have thought the Giants would be this clutch after years of just not showing anything. Is this one of the best months the Giants have had in the last Decade at least?
Royals got screwed.

) and paid $3 million for the privilege to play them while also losing prospects -- not incredibly valuable ones, but still prospects in a dry system. That $3 million also guarantees the Dodgers won't sign first-round pick Zach Lee.

It's the best month in exactly a decade according to the KNBR talking heads.
