Episodes you'd like to have seen

^Very fanboyish, but Sisko owes Picard no apology, and I'm a TNGer. And we know what tribe Chakotay comes from- "The Rubber Tree people". Why do you think he's so wooden?

A DS9 episode showing nuances in the Ferengi would have been good. If we see that not all Klingons are honourable, then why not some Ferengi who don't believe in profit?

We saw a Ferengi like that on TNG. "Suspicions".

^Sisko owes Picard no apology

How do you figure? Sisko should have known that Picard was not responsible for what happened. Doesn't Sisko know that the Borg were controlling Picard's every move?

Was it ever stated as such? In Tattoo, he and his dad went to an alien planet and found an offshoot of his people. Is there even a real life tribe called the Rubber Tree people? Since Chakotay was native American, then it must correspond with a real life ethnic group.

And I think Sisko did IMO owe Picard an apology. I'm a joint TNGer/DS9er, but Picard can never say anything other than the fact that the Borg erased his personality and was under their direct control. His actions and thoughts were entirely subject to what the Borg Collective wanted. There is no blood on his hands at all.

Sisko, regarding the Romulan entry to the Dominion War, cannot say the same can he? lol. What if the Romulans ever find out that the Federation deceived them? I think dragging an entire race into a major interstellar war, which if ever leaked out could spell a war as bad as the Dominion War and maybe even the destruction of the Federation, is just a bit more morally dubious than through no fault of one's own being controlled to do something. Remember it was also Ben who poisoned a planet to satisfy a personal vendetta, and even suspected his dad to be a Founder of the Dominion.

A follow up on the Kelvans, to see how they were adapting. A episode which involved the Doomsday Machine floating over a secret research facility, maybe with Romulans or Klingons trying to spy it out. Watching Yonada reach its destination.

Wow, my incredibly able mind forgot about 'em. I'd be interested in such an episode.

TNG, see what happend to Hugh the borg, what happend to the computer lifeform?
The nanites?

ds9 episode to see what would've happened if Sisko turned down the post instead of accepting it in the pilot episode.

Voyager: A wormhole opens up near the ship that can cut decades off of their journey. *But an away team is on a shuttle so far away, the wormhole will collapse by the time they reach the wormhole. *Should the ship head straight throw the wormhole, stranding the away team in the middle of the Delta Quadrant with just a shuttlecraft? *What are the ramifications for those on the shuttle, and whoever was in charge of Voyager when the decision was made?

Next Generation: The Enterprise is hiding from a Borg ship, when a Cytherian Probe (see "The Nth Degree") heads toward the cube. *Should the Enterprise remain hidden, and potentially allow the Borg to assimilate the Cytherians, their knowledge, and become as smart as Barclay became? *Should they risk their lives, revealing their presence to the Borg, in an attempt to prevent the Borg from learning about the Cytherians?

The Original Series: Warp Drive has a little known side effect. *This form of FTL reactionless*propulsion actually slows the expansion rate of the universe. *One ship, or even many ships have a negligible effect. *But with larger masses at greater speeds over a long period of time, it can allow people to engineer the expansion of the universe. *Should the Federation initiate, or take part in a vast plan to shape the future of the universe as they see fit, preventing, or designing the end of time? *Should this discussion take place across the entire Federation society, or just among the "best and brightest?". Is the crew of the Enterprise exploring space to see what's out there, and what challenges they can overcome, or are they laying the foundation for a future to be designed by man? *This is more of a pilot idea, establishing a central question for the franchise. *Are we just students of the universe, or it's architects learning on the job?

Lower Decks featuring the supporting cast from TOS and yeah, Uhura in the centre seat would have been really cool.

^ The Grand Nagus for part of one episode until Quark bitched out the Prophets and they changed him back.

Voyager have never heard of the Dominion,

Actually, they have. The Dominion were discovered six months prior to Voyager being stranded in the Delta Quadrant. In fact, in a season 2 episode we see a battle simulation against a Jem'Hadar attack cruiser on the holodeck, and several holographic Jem'Hadar are seen among the holograms rebelling against the Hirogen in season 7.

For some reason Chakotay and the Doctor seemed unaware of the Dominion in season 4. With Chakotay we can assume that knowledge of the Dominion hadn't yet reached the Maquis. As for the Doctor, I don't know. Maybe six months was still too recent to add knowledge into the EMH programming?

Yeah, I always wondered why Chak and the Doc had never heard of the Dominion. 'The Jem'Hadar' and 'The Search' take place well before 'Caretaker'. You'd think a Galaxy class flagship being taken out by the Jems would make Federation-wide headline news. Surely news of this would have reached the Maquis? OK, maybe they literally didn't have time to include Dominion medical knowledge in the EMH's programming, but Chakotay and B'Elanna should know about them.

Yes, you're right, Voyager's database has images of Jem'Hadar ships and soldiers in it. As seen in 'Parturition' and 'Flesh And Blood'.

I thought another appearance by McCoy on TNG would have been cool.

a Mirror TNG story

the beginnings of the Romulan War earlier in ENT.

Agreed! :techman:

I was waiting for an episode of Star Trek Enterprise where they meet the "real" ECS Kobayashi Maru.

I can imagine how awesome it would have been to hear the NX-01 crew saying the lines from Wrath of Khan, and maybe even have them use the exact Captain Kojiro Vance voiceover used during Saavik's test, "This is the freighter Kobashi Maru, 19 periods out of Altair VI!", and then the Klingon cruisers attack. I have no idea how they could have ended it (presumbly with one MFing giant Deus Ex Machina), but it would have been the coolest prequel episode and best bit of reverse-continuity ever, if they did it right.

That would have been a cool way to end the series! In the last few minutes, have them confronted with the historical Kobyashi Maru and the final scene of the series is them headed into battle. We never see how it ends, or how they "solved" the "No Win Scenario" (or if they did at all). :techman:

Nemesis should have been a mirror universe movie. The nemesis being the evil Mirror Picard versus the good real universe Picard.

Absolutely! Brilliant! :techman:

I had an idea for an episode of DS9 where, during The Dominion War, a Jem'Hadar ship visits the planet that holds the Skin of Evil creature, Armus. Later, the Defiant encounters the wrecked ship floating across the territorial border. They tow it back to study the tech and discover what killed the Jem'Hadar. Naturally, Armus is hidden on board and subsequently envelops the station setting the stage for a showdown between him and Odo. Seems Armus is either a by-product of Changeling evolution, and they abandoned him as a discrepancy, an error, in the Great Link.....or, he's just a psychotic Changeling, having been stranded in the Alpha Quadrant for a millenia...

In any series, are there any stories you would have liked to be told?

I've sometimes thought that a Voyager episode that would be interesting, (possibly a two parter) would be this:

Voyager discovers a stable, useable wormhole but scans indicate that it doesn't lead to the Alpha or Beta Quadrants, but to the Gamma quadrant.

Voyager, having left Earth after the discovery of the Bajoran wormhole realise that they could cut their journey short by travelling through this new wormhole, and then onto the Bajoran wormhole, the new wormhole however lands right in the middle of / the far side of Dominion space.

Voyager have never heard of the Dominion, so try to negotiate passage through, but this leads to hostilities as the war is raging at the other end of Dominion space...Janeway has to then decide whether to battle across Dominion space a'la Krenim space (never necessarilly ever learning about the actual full-on war), or turning back through to the Delta Quadrant and closing the wormhole behind them, stopping the Dominion from invading the Delta Quadrant too.

It is likely Janeway was aware of the Dominion. The events of DS9's The Jem Hadar occured on Stardate 47987.5 (2370). http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/The_Jem%27Hadar_(episode)

Voyager was lost around Stardates 48307.5 - 48315.6. http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Caretaker_(episode). The third digit suggest it was several months after DS9's Jem Hadar. Janeway would have known about it, especially given a Galaxy class starship was destroyed, kinda a biggie. Before you said it may have been kept a secret, Lwaxanna Troi seemed to be aware of these events, when she spent time with Odo a bit after that.

Such a very amazing link!
Thanks you for the post.
