Cosplay, short for "costume play," is a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea. Characters are often drawn from popular fiction in Japan. Favorite sources include manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, hentai and fantasy movies.

In short, what I'm looking for are fictional characters who have dressed up as other fictional characters. For example, Kristen Bell as Princess Leia in Fanboys, Jennifer Aniston as Princess Leia in Friends, Yvonne Strahovski as Princess Leia in Chuck, Nathan Fillion as Malcolm Reynolds in Castle, James Spader as Batman in Boston Legal, and the characters in The Big Bang Theory seem to like dressing up as superheroes a lot. Halloween episodes are a good source.

Or you could go with celebrities who have dressed up in costumes as characters they are not playing (Kate Beckinsale as Wonder Woman, Olivia Munn as Princess Leia or Sailor Moon or Chun-Li or Wonder Woman or Emma Frost or...).

And I'll even go one step further -- if you're willing to dress up as a character or have dressed up as a character, you can enter yourself!

Sometimes a theme comes out that is tough for people to think of something. In my case, for instance, I lucked out because I recently saw a repeat of the NCIS episode "Witch Hunt" -- a Halloween ep that included a Klingon "suspect" ... then I spotted pic of Abbey in her MM costume... I figured she had a better shot at getting votes.
