Well, while I do believe medical technology will significantly extend my life, I do know I will die someday. I have chosen, however, that I would wish to be cremated and spread over some kind of rolling grassland. I just don't want to go this way.

I know, but in the 23rd century shouldn't they come up with a better word for that considering the word now refers to a specific race of people? If Kirk had said of all the souls I have encountered his was the most Romulan he probably would still be referring to specific traits of the Romulans(which no doubt he views negatively). If Star Trek was really meant to portray an inclusive, diverse society of the future I think they should have chosen a different line.

Well, in the 23rd Century, he may not be speaking recognizable English at all. But in this case, not only is the movie speaking to a contemporary audience, but he was also referring in-context to Spock's longstanding awkwardness with his Human ancestry, so there's really no other word that would have had the same impact.
