2. The ones who want the power trip and use their badge to get away with it.
I ran into one of those a few weeks ago. I wasn't even permitted to explain (politely, I see no reason to be a dick) why we hadn't pulled straight over at the entrance to the airport garage. We didn't know WTF the cop wanted us to do. There was a huge puddle ahead of us and we though he was telling us to drive around it.
After it was all said and done and we got a lecture, I asked him if I could say something, and the fucker said "No ma'am, you may not."
I was smart enough not to answer back, but if looks could have killed, fat-belly would have been stretched out.
Sadly enough, I wanted to help the guy communicate better in future. We couldn't figure out what he wanted from us. Turns out there is a speed limit on the lower level of the airport. Who the fuck knew? (Or cared. Frankly, that's a waste of my taxpayer money to go after that shit.) Besides, have you ever BEEN in an airport? How the hell do you speed in an airport? It's not possible!
But he was a power-tripping asshole and he doesn't give a damn that my fucking taxes pay his salary. He's MY employee, he's NOT MY boss.
There are good cops and there are pigs. Regrettably, too many of the latter are cropping up lately.
In all fairness, he didn't give my husband a ticket. But I'm still pissed off at him for his attitude. They are supposed to "protect and SERVE."
It's a shame that a bad apple spoils the barrel, but would a little courtesy help? I know they deal with the scum of the Earth, but not everyone they run across is scum or disrespectful. I wish they'd remember that.
