So are you saying that posting here is worth it to you only if you are doing it on your EMPLOYER'S time? And that by extension, we are not worth it to you if you have to do it on YOUR time?

I'm sitting here at work where a project is winding down after a nearly a years work has been sunk into. In the down time when we needed a break I would come here to the BBS and post. Now that it is nearly complete I won't have as much free time.
So I thought I would put it to vote--should I continue posting on the board making time for it or stop visiting altogether and just retire from the board for good. You all get to decide.
I'll tally up all the votes and go with the majority concensus. I'm not doing a poll just counting the votes in the thread and you also need to include the reason why you voted the way you did. Come this Sunday I'll tally them up and I'll either find time to continue posting or ask that my account be closed.

Why do you need to close your account, just go about your real life and if and when the time comes when you feel like posting here again then you can....simple.
I'm sure he'll Access his account later anyway (I know I did).
I once had a job so boring that I would deliberately refrain from pooping in the morning so that I'd have something to do when I got to work.
I don't know why startrekwatcher's post reminded me of that story...
That is pretty bad. I had: sit in this chair--or walk around the room a bit--but don't leave the room for the next 20 minutes while you wait for a laser to warm up and stablize so it could be used. Safety required your presence in the room. If you left, you had to turn off the laser first--which meant that you'd just have to wait another 20 when you got back. By the way, the room was painted black--black floors, ceiling, and walls--and filled with equipment. There was nothing else in the room to actually do but sit in the chair or walk around the huge granite surface plate with all the equipment. I brought in crossword puzzles. My bitch of a supervising engineer didn't like that. What the hell else do you do to stay awake. Out of my 16 yrs in that job, I must've spent the equivalent of 4 or 5 or them in that room.

If you've resorted to nothing but baiting here, probably time to find another hobby. Not a lot of people here begging you to stay, though, so factor that into the decision as well. Strongest show of support for you here was someone saying "meh, do whatever you want".
Puts you in a tough spot when you say you'll delete your account if people want you to, no one begs you to stay, and then you have to justify why you're still around, though.
Between that and no one falling for the baiting, gotta be a pretty disappointing thread, i'd think...

Hypothetically speaking, when you go around saying that this board doesn't matter...and then keep your account even when faced with your own relevance (or lack thereof), it sort of defeats that entire "I'm holier than thou" attitude.
