/\It was all funny. But the single funniest ep was the one with the Japanese investors. Put together like a precision watch. I did not see the resolution coming, and I really did fall about laughing when it happened.
Dr. Fishman: Excuse me, are you the Bluths?
[*]Lucille: Not Doctor Wordsmith. How's my son?
[*]Dr. Fishman: He's going to be all right.
[*]Oscar: Oh, thank God.
[*]Lindsay: Finally, some good news from this guy.
[*]George Michael: There's no other way to take that.
[*]Dr. Fishman: That's a great attitude. I gotta tell you, if I was given this news, I don't know if I would take it this well.
[*]Lucille: But... you said he was alright.
[*]Dr. Fishman: Yes. He's lost his left hand, so he's going to be all right.
[*]Lucille: You son of a bitch. I hate this doctor!
So my friends that i have gotten into this show have just finished up season one and are working on season 2. So far, the verdict is awesome.![]()
Or how many hints that were that Buster was going to lose his hand.
I've had trouble convincing people about the show because the premise sounds clichéd: A family of rich eccentrics lose their money and have to learn to live with one another. That doesn't sound like the sort of premise that provides fresh, original comedy. It doesn't help that some of the best jokes require an understanding of the show, how can you adequately explain the joke about Buster having his hand bitten off by a loose seal without knowing his relationship with his mother? On paper it's a bad pun, but when seen in context it is just one of the show's many layers. For whatever reason the idea of the show didn't draw me in.
