Smallville Summer Hiatus Thread III (Spoilers)

Although I do like Chloe, being old enough to be her father kind of gives me the creepy old dude label when I think that way. So I think I will just stick with Annette O'Toole and her signature beautiful gams that I recognized last season without even seeing her face.

A tidbit from Kelly and Brian's facebook page...I was almost right, they just pitched the two hundredth episode and have just started writing it and for some reason confirmed Tom will be at comic con on the panel when everyone and their mother knows that by now, well maybe they mother's of the posters of this thread ;)

Nice find...I'm getting jazzed now for the final season. I knew I'd always be coming back. Unless they do something really retarded this season to one of the characters I will be here through the entire season to the finale. Homecoming is a nice episode title. I wonder if it's Laura's episode...or maybe they've scored the ultimate return and managed to convince Mike to return and are gonna announce it at comic con next week. If that happens...you bet the fan boys and girls will rival that Twilight chick fan's scream when the trailer debuted. I'm guessing it could be Lana. I just have a hunch.

Remember too that they said Jon will be appearing in the premier and in another episode down the road which I'm guessing will be the series finale. Brian and Kelly also said in their status update that "Homecoming" will be filled with emotional character moments and epic as well.

^Honestly, if the organisers of Comic Con had any sense they'd ban any mention of Twilight.

A recurring theme in reports from last year was how annoying the influx of screeching teenage girls was on the first day. The good news was that they all sold their passes after the Twilight panel and buggered off.

Hahaha...I'm referring to the trailer that was shown at comic con last year where there was this (I assume teen girl) girl who just went APESHIT during the scene in the trailer for "New Moon" where Jacob appeared without his shirt. It was made fun of and I'm pretty sure Kevin Smith brought it up in his panel. I remember watching the Smallville panel and there were a few screams when the premier for season nine was shown...I expect there will be such a reaction again, especially if they show Jon Schneider.

That you did. Good call on the Red Queen. With any luck, we'll see her return more than once this season.

Laura/Kara came back in the previous episode.

1. Lazarus
2. Shield
3. SuperGirl
4. Homecoming

I'm a bit disappointed with this. I would've rather they'd taken a page out of the Stargate book and gone the other direction.

The 100th episode was full of "emotional character moments" and "epic" and it was bloody awful.

I actually enjoyed the 100th episode...I'd actually term that good Smallville. I wonder what "Shield" is about unless Clark is getting recruited by Nick Fury.

Okay, you guys have gotten me to bite. You and Procutus who sent me a PM asking my predictions. I didn't think I was going to post this publicly, but what the hell. Just note this: this is a prediction, not a spoiler. Not an established fact. Just me taking the dots we have been given and connecting them. Here goes...

The season premiere will open where we left off. Clark falling powerless to his death with the blue-K dagger in his gut. He willingly sacrificed himself to save his people and the Earth at the same time. He's ready to die. His spirit separates from his body and starts to "go to the light".

And here is where they take a cue from Adventures of Superman #500...

As Clark ascends to the light, he is stopped by the spirit of Jonathan Kent. Jonathan tells Clark that it is not yet his time, that he has so much work left to do. Clark explains he is ready to die however, and he confesses to Pa what he did back in the 100th episode. That he changed time to save Lana, and fate balanced itself by taking Jonathan instead. That he wasn't really the one meant to die then. That he should still be alive. He confesses all the guilt and shame he's been carrying for making that choice these last five years.

Jonathan, always the good dad, forgives and absolves Clark's guilt for his choice. And then he gives Clark one of his patented fatherly motivational speeches. He inspires Clark to not give up on life, to go back to his body and live again. And Clark wakes up, likely caught while falling by J'onn J'onnz. He becomes a new man. His guilt is gone. And he retires that black Blur outfit he wore last season.

Only, the spirit of Jonathan now knows he was not supposed to die and so he also WILLS HIMSELF BACK TO LIFE. It will take a while though, just like it did for Superman back in the AoS#500 comic. His return will happen in Homecoming. Jonathan died in episode 100, he will return to life in episode 200. How? Well, it is a show based on a comic book. Does it really matter? Star Trek would do it with technobabble, for this show I will call it kryptobabble.

Anyway, upon his return you just KNOW that Martha will come running back to him in a heartbeat. So I expect that Annette O'Toole and Micheal McKean will also show up in Homecoming. We will see the reunion of the Kents, giving us the promised major emotional beats. Which will leave Perry White, Martha's current boyfriend, out in the cold. No girlfriend, the leads on the story he was working on dried up with last season's finale, he will have nothing left. Except to become the Daily Planet's new editor in chief, his homecoming as well. And Jonathan will likely join Martha in Washington as she continues her senatorial duties after the episode ends, or they'll head off on another honeymoon.

So that is what I have pieced together. We will see how close I am by mid-October. Which, coincidentally, will also see my 45th birthday.

Oh, and "Shield" likely either refers to Clark's S-shield or we will see the Guardian from comic book's Cadmus Labs.

@The Dagman those are pretty logical predictions....you should do the entire tenth season for us just to entertain!! I too have theorized they would use Jonathon Kent in an adaption of "The Adventures of Superman #500". It just is calling for that.

^

I have to agree with AY on this Dag, your theories are well thought out and probably much more logical than what Kelly and Brian will ultimately deliver. I really hope that your prediction is what we see come September/October. It would certainly make this season stand out from all that went before it, IMO.

I LOVE Zatanna!

That is all.

I also have to agree with NX here; just watched the repeat ep with Zatanna last night, and I really hope she returns again this season. I'd love to see her interact more with the rest of the JL, and not just Clark.

And, may I just say that I find her far more intriguing than Lois. It's a shame that she and Clark will never actually hook up.

More likeable, and intriguing than Lois sure, but Lois is supposed to be like Yosemite Sam with tits. I think why Clark in the comics and some other media falls for her is that he envies her freedom of expression since if was ever half so bold, the man of steel'd be breaking stuff and killing people by accident.

I don't find either actress all that attractive.
