Mondegreens

For years I thought that Brown-Eyed Girl (rather bizarrely) started "Hey, Roderigo!"

At least Google tells me I'm not alone in this.

I'm a huge fan of the Cocteau Twins. You can just about imagine what it's like trying to pick lyrics out of THEIR music. (And they did it on purpose, I know this. Elizabeth Fraser manages to make total gibberish sound like heaven... )

Come to think of it, their song titles sound like someone's Mondegreens.

^^ Aw, c'mon -- EVERYBODY's heard that one. John Fogerty himself sometimes sings it that way on the final chorus, as a joke.

Please refer to the opening post. We're going for more ORIGINAL mondegreens here, folks.

* adds mondegreen to his strange word list, along with palindrome and onomatopoeia *
It makes more sense if you look at it this way:
Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands,
Oh, where hae ye been?

They hae slain the Earl O' Moray,
And Lady Mondegreen.
(The actual fourth line is "And laid him on the green".)

"J'veux ton amour
Et je veux ton revenge
J'veux ton amour
I don't wanna be FRENCH..."

Hey it would make sense... ;)
