Nice. How long was your exposure?

I first captured lightning when I was on vacation in Thailand. I put my camera on a tripod and set it for a 30 second exposure during a storm and hoped for the best.

He's lucky. Every year that goes by I shake my head at the people who buy and light off fireworks. It seems that this year, a gentleman in New York blew his arm off at the shoulder. Also, a local man (Edmond, Oklahoma) had a firework explode in his face. He's in the hospital and will lose an eye.

My girlfriend and I took a trip down to Southern California last week. We drove 6 hours to her aunt's house in Lake Forest where we crashed, then relaxed and visited more of her family in San Diego. The next day was the one we'd been waiting for: Disneyland! We spent 15 hours straight at the park and were exhausted the next day. The last day of the trip we had brunch with her family in Anaheim, then hit up Hollywood on the way back up north. All around it was a great trip.

That's on purpose. It's almost enough to make you forget how "energetic" they can be sometimes.

It continues to work even as they get older. My 7 year old daughter looks like an angel when she's asleep - hands together, under her cheek. Totally different story when she's awake.
