"Your" time captured in a scene

The Breakfast Club and Dazed and Confused both ring bells with me. I knew the characters, listened to the music, drove some of the cars-even though one was the year after graduation and the other a few years before they spoke(speak) to me...I remember my Dad's comment after The Breakfast Club-"Kid's don't really talk like that." and the realization of what "generation gap" really meant.

Funny, that was my reaction to The Breakfast Club too!

Well, maybe teens DID talk like that in the ’80s.

^yes, we did.

Hehe, "About Last Night", loved Jim Belushi's story at the beginning. - "At this point, we don't know yet" :guffaw:

For me it's the late 1970s. Sure I was a kid then but there are so many things that take me back to that period:

(1.) spooky shows like "Children of the Stones", "Sapphire and Steel", "King of the Castle" etc;
(2.) others like "Mork & Mindy", "The Beachcombers", "The Professionals", "The Incredible Hulk" and "The Six Million Dollar Man"; and, of course,
(3.) "Star Trek"/"James Bond"/"Star Wars" at the cinema...

Is this what we're doing or have I cocked-up monumentally...?

^
No, that's what we're doing alright :).

And thanks to everyone who's come in and posted here so far. It's really interesting to see what produces that kind of feeling for different people (that memory time machine, if you will :D).

I got this on dvd a couple of years back and watched it again. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Do you remember The Changes that was out around about the same time?
